Question on Buying Gold

/ Question on Buying Gold #61
Roosevelt confiscated citizens' gold and revalued it so those in power that were allowed to keep theirs saw an instant 75% "return"

Schoolsout...

Furthermore, any empire based on paper currency, ultimately fails. History has proved that time and time again.

This (United States) is an empire despite what our handlers want the populus to think.

I feel the end game is one world government where populations are wholly dependent of the central government for everything and the central government dictates everything.

I won't be around to see it, thankfully.

Just look around at the rampant entitlement and Fedreal aid programs, not just in this country, but in all civilized countries.

Every administration since the establishment of the Fedreal Reserve has been on that road.

What goes on in the Grove stays in the Grove but the members have a common goal.

Just don't dig me up. I don't want to be Soylent Green.

/ Question on Buying Gold #66
I'm not sure the big players will ever agree to a one world government, although it sure looks like it is heading that way.

Things will be interesting, indeed. May we all make it through to the other side intact if it happens in our lifetime :)

Well right off the top of my head....I can be eating my food, drinking my water and bartering both for other things I need, Gold , by the way would not be one of the things I need as it has no utility, and I can be enjoying myself up until the time the powers that be seek to engage me...now that will be a hoot..eventually I suppose there is a battle worth fighting...

I simply can't fathom why you say "gold has no utility."

Come on now schoolsout....get real...what can you do with a 1 oz. gold coin right now except show it off, take it down to a coin shop and sell it or have it mounted in a frame for a necklace...give me a break..You cannot take it down to the store and expect them to accept it and give you $1,800 worth of groceries...go try it and let me know how that works for you..and if society disintegrates and we fall into the abyss then I want you to find a way to tell me how popular your gold is with starving and thirsty folks...and how will you offer your gold knowing once you tell anyone you have it you become a target for Robbery ? Let me know how that works out for you...God forbid the time comes...:)

That's just it. Gold preserves your wealth.

First ounce I ever bought was $600. I've held it for about 5 years. If I need to buy something, I sell it for $1850 and then buy what I need. The $600 you socked away in a bank account has earned you, what, $10? You have $610...I've got $1850. You do the math...

Your arguments are made of straw... :)

No my argument is not made of straw it is made of common sense...You are buying gold to protect yourself against chaos...In the event of a break down in society...just who is going to buy your gold ? and for what...worthless dollars ? and who would want the gold when folks need food and water ?

You avoided my question...so let me try again...in a time of chaos or even today you would have a hard time selling a 1 oz Krugerrand ..you would have to take it to a coin shop or mail it to a gold dealer...Tell me you can take it to the grocery store and use it to buy groceries ...again, get real...geeeez ! this is basic common sense stuff here...Yikes !

I bought gold and silver to protect me from the government devaluing the dollar...which they are doing.

There is a reason people are buying gold. You obviously don't understand how this game is played, but do as you wish as it is your life. Again, currency crises are nothing new and history has shown that owning assets such as gold have helped people transfer their wealth into the new age of whatever they think of next. This can not be debated. I'm not sure what you are trying to argue. You obviously need to read up on countries and people that have experienced a crashing currency...I'm not going to do your work for you, although I have tried to get you on the right path.

So you realize then that you cannot actually spend your gold...I mean , right now..you must go through a broker or coin dealer to obtain the very dollars you despise...but you realize you cannot take the gold to the store..you would have to publicize the fact that you have gold and are hungry and thirsty and want to make a deal....you just don't get it...The very calamity you are preparing for will not welcome your gold...I am going to leave you with that and wish you well building your Gold...

I am reminded of the parable of olden days and as I recall this wealthy nobleman was lost in the woods, hungry and thirsty but he had a pouch full of gold coins..He smelled food and happened upon a cabin in the woods and an old woman answered the door..he told the old woman he would give her a gold coin for every drop of grease on top of the soup she offered to feed him...She got greedy and put a big lump of lard in his bowl of soup...he ate and only had to give her one gold coin instead of dozens since when the lard went into the soup it attracted all the other droplets of grease on the top..thereby making one big drop...the point is ...gold was nothing , the woman first offered him the soup...he wanted to eat and was willing to give up all his gold to eat. I give !

Brin, people will know you have food, water and land as well.

Again, you have no clue as to what you are talking about regarding the role of gold. Keep putting up strawmen arguments and telling yourself how right you are on this subject.

You do what you want to do and I'll do what I want to do...so far, I've been correct with what I've done.

Your "tale" is pretty retarded...did you just make that up? The woman wanted his gold badly...she just got fooled. Do you not understand your story?

No I did not make it up...I heard it years ago..I just can't remember where..someone will chime in and tell us.

Please don't mistake my intention here...I wish you well...I own some gold an silver and have for years but just as a part of being diversified...I wish both of us well, I have enjoyed our debate but please just answer the one question I have been asking you...Forget society falling apart and the US going into chaos...but just today --now here is the question :

Is it not true that for you to sell you gold today you would need a coin shop to be open ? I mean to get cash in your pocket, the very cash you fear, would you not need a coin shop ? Don't you agree the local Grocery or bank will not take your gold coin ? I know the answer...I just want to see if you know...:)

/ Question on Buying Gold #80
The gold coins I own are legal tender in the US
They have a face value stamped on them. They must be accepted if I did try to use them (face value is much less than intrinsic value, though....done on purpose by the gov't)

By the way, I also own "junk" silver...

click the link....people are, in fact, catching on.
