Quick hitch difficulty

Howdy folks,

Have a new BCS 732 for general yard and garden work. I have 3 acres of hilly pasture and many redwood trees/saplings (they stump sprout). Bought the machine to mow, till gardens, and to chip/shred redwood limbs for mulch/compost

I have a great deal of trouble mounting and demounting implements. Have the 30" BladeRunner flail mower (which I love) tiller, and chipper/shredder. Only the small light tiller goes on easily, the rest are very frustrating to me and my wife.

I considered removing all the quick hitches, but decided the threads on tractor stub/bolts were too vulnerable and would ultimately be damaged with repeated changes.

I sure would appreciate any ideas or systems to make this easier.

Hi! Some tips. First the most important. Is horizontal level between tractor quick hitch and quick hitch implement. Before remove this one. I put some wood pieces between ground and the instrument for good level. Second is lateral alignment. Quick hitch must be very clean and well greased. Good Luck! Oldmech

Olmech, I was just going to set up a separate staging area for each implement with the proper height and attack/lateral angle. Had discovered how important the lateral angle is---have to move the big flair mower off level by 1/4" to the tractor to get the 2 stubs inserted

I had tried that first, search on "bcs quick hitch" "bcs quick coupling" "bcs quick couple" etc. and got nowhere.

It looks my my post worked though. thanks.

Well I got down and familiar with my BCS today.

We held the tractor level and measured the distance from the flat concrete pad to the bottom of the quick hitch. Did the same with the chipper accessory (had to level it both ways with the levelers). Subtracted the difference and created a mount/dismount location with appropriate lifts. Worked like a charm. I plan on doing the same tomorrow with the flail mower. Oh yeah. I cleaned and greased each hitch completely. Slid right in, umm umm. :thumbsup:

Produced a couple of yards of redwood chips. Returned the BCS to its the appropriate docking/un-docking station and slid the chipper right off.
