I have three man caves. #1 is the Garage Mahal, which houses my wood working and metal working tools.
#2 is my sound proofed TV room with the 50" TV.
#3 is the office with my computers. Upon which I am sending this message.
BTW, anyone considering sound proofing, it is relatively easy and inexpensive. The secret is mass (double layers of 1/2" drywall) on 2X6" base/headers with staggered 2X4" studs 2' on center. The studs can be turned lengthwise or installed normally. They just do not touch each inside and outside layers of the wall to carry the sound. Insulate between the studs and ceiling joists and install a sound deadening ceiling. Install an insulated door. Mine is an exterior door without glazing.
My room is in the basement so only two of the four walls needed the treatment. Sound was reduced by ~70%.
Cheap, easy and nearly everyone know how to install.
