Massey helicopter ???

My neighbor's new helicopter matches my Massey nicely. Had to get a pic when he landed today.:thumbsup:

He's a super nice guy. I don't anything about helicopters or how much one costs. I just thought a pic of the Masey with the helicopter would be so cool. He didn't mind a bit.

That aircraft probably cost in the neighborhood of $500K (WAG on my part, but helo's ain't cheap!). Not cheap to operate, either.
Most are corporate owned or leased.

Looks like an older Enstrom, depending on how many hours on it, and how it is equipped, my guess is it is worth around $100k.

The value drops substantially, if they are pretty much out of hours and need to be overhauled. And the value would also increase substantially if it was just overhauled. This is because a major overhaul can cost $50k-$70k, or more.

You can spend $2k a month, to make the payments, insurance, maintenance, hangar rent, and fuel costs, for a basic certified helicopter. But, I have known guys who do manage to do it for less.

Agreed on the Enstrom and the 100K is a more likely value. I've been flyin em for a living for many years now, and would love to own one.....but it'll never happen!!

Thanks, I guess it would have been prudent to actually click on the photo's and see that.

I never see anyone flying anything by any of the lesser know manufacturers around here. It's easy to forget they even exist.

My neighbors are all trying to figure out if I am some kind of secret agent, because I don't go to work, and I have a friend who owns helicopters land, and pick me up, or drop me off. :laughing:
