JD 265 ... a good unit???

Whats everyones thoughts on a JD 265 in fair condition with deck and snow blower?
Decent tractor? Do they have hydro lift or ability to add hydro lift?
Seller is asking 1700

I have a 265 and it has been a great mower. It only has 600hrs on it, but I haven't had to do any repairs other than regular maintenance type stuff. The Kawasaki engine in them will run 2000-3000hrs with good care. No hydraulic lift, but with the big lift lever it is pretty easy to lift attachments, whether it be the mower, blade, tiller, etc. All I have is the 48" deck, and a set of wheel weight. Just mow with it and pull a trailer around the garden. If I didn't have larger tractors I'd probably have gotten the front blade and tiller.

As for the price, I don't really know what they go for, but if it's in good shape with the snow blower that doesn't sound out of line. Also depends on how many hours are on it.

These particular 200 series model frames became the 320, 325, 335, 345, 355 and GX300 series tractors made from 1992 until 2006 then the X500 came out. The 320 uses a different model SAUER-SUNSTRAND transmission than the 265 but the 320 had hydraulic lift. I know that there was a serial number break on the transmissions used on 265 so I知 not sure if it has hydraulic lift but I hope this helps.
