NRA billing???

the biggest issue I have seen is for people with 2 or more address's.( like a physical and pobox) .. etc. you get a membership with one address, and invariably down the road they get your other address.. usually by buying lists I assume.. then you get offers on those address's as if it is a different person.. and that's where IMHO, some people get confused on the multiple renewals..

I got a life membership for $500 a few years back when they were running
a membership drive. I had been paying year by year up until then.

I think they regret letting me get in that cheap, I can tell because they constantly send cards and letters asking for more of my money.

AARP does the same 6 month phony billing telling you that your membership is about to expire. My wife says her's is good until 2014 but they still send her what looks like bills.

I am not a member as I think their political positions are way liberal and do not reflect their membership's position. Also their position is determined by their management with no input from members. My wife says it is good for the discounts but I feel membership validates their politics.

Back to the NRA, I joined several years ago. They kept sending this type of mail and asking for more money, almost weekly.
I finally told them to cancel my membership and keep the refund because they seemed to need it more than I did. They did and kept it. Ok by me.
I may consider joining again, based on some of the reasons given by most of you.

If you join back, Hold out for the neat folding knife, you will be glad you did...

I did the same as nue2farm. I just got tired of the begging for $$$$ every couple of weeks.

Oh yeah, it is worth the price of membership alone just for the cheap little made in China knife:rolleyes:

I paid $125 for a life membership in 1967 & bumped another $125 sometime in the 80's to upgrade to endowment member. Even if I never see a single issue of National Rifleman I got my guns. I send the gov't thousands each year & nearly 1/2 of the politicians want to take my guns away because they're afraid I might disagree with their work ( loose use of the term). $250 was money well spent IMO. I'm an Endowment Member also and have never regretted being a member of NRA. If it wasn't for them we'd be using sling shots.

spears.. 'slung shots' are illeagal in some places.

I agree.. best money I've ever spent was on the NRA.. next best was on a gun.

I got so fed up with the NRA looking for money I told them to shove it. This was after &*%$# YEARS of telling them to take me off their call list. Recently they called looking for money, least it was fun ******* with them LOL

Kicker was, I actually gave them money other than my membership dues.

With out the NRA private ownership of any firearms would not exist in this country. We are spending money to keep private ownership and stop registration. Endowment Member Chris Stahler

i feel about the same. registration would AT least be here if not worse, I truly believe.

registration does lead to confiscation just ask anyone in Great Briton right now we are fighting the UN wanting to control the United States and change our constitution. With out the NRA membership it would sail through congress and be signed by the President.
I am the NRA

as the germans pre ww2 registration leads to lots of things..

The NRA does call me frequently and ask for money. I politely tell them no and tell them that I appreciate what they are doing. They are very polite and OK with that. It's painless, doesn't ruin my day, and doesn't cause me to cop an attitude. I have been an NRA member for decades and not once have I heard of them ever mismanaging funds. These folks have always been true professionals and straight up in all the years that I have been a member. If I did had a dollar to give them I know it would be very wisely spent.

Is anyone else fed up with the NRA sending out invoices for dues 3 months after you paid for the current year. Then they bill you every three months for the next year. I was paid up 3 years in advance before I figured out not to pay them every time I got one. I just got an invoice and it didn't even have my expiration date on the invoice. I had to look on my card. I would like to start a phone/mail in to tell them we are fed up. Spend our dues on gun issues not this.

In response to the OP, no.

Can't think of another organization that does more, and does it effectively, to preserve our (remaining) freedoms.

I am a Patron member and I bought my wife a Lifetime membership when our current Idiot in Chief got elected. I generally donate every year and am glad to do it. Freedoms are not free and the NRA is our most effective gun lobby.

ANYONE that owns guns and believes in our second amendment should join and be happy to send an extra donation every year. Those that do not will very likely be the first to whine when the dems pass legislation restricting your gun rights.
