kubota one tough tractor

I own a 2010 m7040 4x4 cab and just purchased an 2011 m5040 4x4 no cab both tractor have ldrs and have put these two tractors in everything,neither have missed a lick.I am very happy with both!! 700hrs on the 7040 and 92hrs on the 5040

Its the DS1440,yeah I wish I would have bought the M8540 and a batwing sometimes

We have the DS1260 pull type as we had a little smaller tractor when we bought it. The guys who rent our land have a couple of the big Woods batwing mowers and they sure can cover a lot of ground.

Those are some good looking tractors!! Kubotas are even prettier when they're working, and prettier still when working and the view is from behind the wheel and in the seat. I get a thrill from mine even when I'm just moving Hay bales.

My "orange" family. "Dad" is a BX2200 - my "diesel powered wheelbarrow"/lawnmower. "The Kidd" is an L4740 w/loader and backhoe.

It's perfect for what I do. It seems to have plenty of digging power for it's size, no problem taking it off and putting it on ( although I do wish the 3PT could stay completely intact when the backhoe is on).

It's no full size backhoe, but it's been a godsend for loosening up ground prior to hauling it away with the FEL, for some trenching, digging stumps and for doing the excavation work for burying a propane tank. I'm considering using it to dig the footings for a barn next spring. It may well bottom out on some of the bigger stuff, but it's worth a shot - worst case I'll get most of it done and will rent a bigger machine for a day. If I hit the ledge I'm expecting, I'll need a breaker anyway...

So far, I'm pretty happy. I don't expect to do the job of a full size machine. If I did, I'd be disappointed, but I don't need full size for 90% of what I need. If I need to spend a little extra time digging a stump or burring a rock, so be it.

I was just wondering looks like it would be handy,I have alot of brush I would like to dig hole to push brush in and burn(when we get some rain).I own my own dozer and dont really know if its worth buying a used backhoe or invest in one like yours.

I've done a lot of that sort of work - it does a good job grabbing brush/small trees and piling for removal with the FEL.

My initial thought was a TLB - it does have more digging power. I decided on the 4740 instead because most of the time the 3PH is more important to me. Switching over requires the removal of 4 bolts and 2 pins to drop most of the 3PH. After that, it's no more hassle than putting the FEL on/off - line it up closely, connect the hydraulic line to the BH, then fuss with the hydraulics to drop the two bottom lugs into the frame and line up the two top pins.
