Jim I went to work for another type company it was in '74 Couple of years after Pres. J. Carter had a midsummer nights dream and declaired the shortage of gas so shut down the pipelines across the country.
Phelps Dodge Copper Co. had to start burning crude oil in the smelters Auto speed limit reduced to 55MPH. from unlimited if the truck would acheive it.
Liked Douglas area Bisbee Lowell also good. Out of Bisbe is a tunnel after going through look to top of Mt. At the Radio towers for communication used to take care of a Micro wave site. "I played cop in Tombstone, 1962 / 1964, no cell towers, no tunnel, still drove over the mountain. Think the tunnel was being dug at that time. Police radio filled most of the trunk of the car. If conditions were right and I was in the right place I could talk to bisbee."
We have plans on going past the area either this fall or next spring. Depending on the weather . Dry is normal but nothing for rain another.

As you go east from Tucson, about 3 miles east of Bouie look south and you can see what looks like a rocket pointing up. That is a water tower we built in the 70's. 3,000 Gallon tank, 14' to the bottom of the tank. Used a small "Rounder" to start the holes, dug the rest by hand, 5' deep. Set the poles and used the Rounder as a scaffold. Poles were about as heavy as the Rounder, had it up on 1 wheel on 1 of them.
