Jumped into my truck and drove 168 miles roundtrip to the nearest dealer sourth of me in Michigan and kind of got a price on a 5035 HST with backhoe and 18" bucket. He never showed me any figures, but said that it would come to around $37,500 plus tax [including delivery]. I forgot to add the grille guard, but that is inmaterial for now. I was going to put $10K down and he said my payments would be about $419 a month for 80 months, which works out to be a total of about $33,500 with my downpayment plus tax [Michigan 6%]. Stopped by my AutoOwnersInsurance, and putting up to a $40K tractor would only cost me about $85 a year for fire & theft to make the loan happy. I think the dealer was a little high, but since I am farther from the shipping point...I think he said they assemble them in Texas, California, and mine coming from [ I think he said ] Indiana...it might be OK. Any thoughts??? I was not too impressed with the shape of the dealership, having been in lots of New Holland/John Deere/Kabota/etc... I am going to run to the dealership about a hundred miles north of me and check them out...tomorrow. I might cruise down to southern Michigan someday when I can afford the diesel for my truck...

I got a recent price for the exact same machine from a dealer in MA for $33,650. I'd keep looking. I wish that machine came with a cab. It looks like a beast.

Went to Rudyard, Michigan, up in the U.P., to Gaylor Trucking and ordered me a new tractor. Good people there, highly recommend if you feel like looking at the Mahindras. Ordered a 5035 HST,industrials, grille guard, loader/bucket, sub-frame'd 495 backhoe with 18" bucket. Not gonna fill the tires, thing weighs in at around 8500 pounds... The hoe won't be on much, but with the sub-frame weight and a barrel of concrete on the 3 point, I will make do. Don't ask how much, it will remind me of a big thick payment book they are gonna send me and ruin my day.... 'Posed to put together down south next week and trucked, and I will post pictures next month when I get it. [ tractor will probably be assembled in Chattanooga, not Texas ]

Yup, my property is missing about 7 stumps and my propane tank has a cement pad under it now. Even had to finally add some diesel to the fuel tank. Just bought some steel, and plan on welding up a cart to roll the hoe around the barn on when things slow down in about a month. I bought some QA 48" forks from Prowler on Ebay [ made in USA by Construction Implements ]. I had the driven the PST, which is what I have on my John Deere....but decided to go with the HST for snow blowing and working out amongst the trees.... I sold my plow and disk when I moved here....don't have cleared land for a big garden anymore. The 5035 is a lot of tractor..... I also plan on welding up a QA snow pusher for the front, but don't know if I will get to it this summer.

Yeah... big payments, but some things are worth paying for. That 5035 with that hoe is an awesome tractor. Enjoy. Sure wish I had one.
