New 3240DT From Barlows Finally Arrived

Hey guys, My new tractor is finally here after a few delays. It's a L3240DT with a LA724 FEL and loaded tires. I just got in from doing some brushhogging with a JD513 and it handled it a whole lot better than the 8N :thumbsup: .Never slowed down even in the thickest grass.
Barlows was great to work with and got a great price compared to local dealers.Thanks to Marv the driver who drove straight thru and finally got to my house at 9:30 Monday night. Found out about them on this site and I also learned alot about the different tractors that that I started out looking at (Kioto,NH boomer35 and MF 1533). So thanks to everyone that replied to my posts about 2 months ago with advice and I think I ended up with the best tractor for my needs for a great price.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

So what rpms should I keep it below? The manual says not to run it faster than necessary during the breakin period. That really helps alot.:confused2:
I ran between 2000 & 2100 while hogging and only about 1000 & 1200 while playing with the loader. I always thought it was important to vary rpms while breaking it in.
Well anyway I really love this tractor. I just have to get used to it since its a whole lot different than the 8n that I've been using for 13 years. It's a little bigger:laughing: and more refined. Way more controls and levers to get used to.

There are several threads on break-in operation, you can't go wrong operating as per manual.

You won't have to baby it.

I echo your great comments about Barlows. They were easy to work with, provided the tractor, loader, tiller and trailer exactly as I wanted. Don (I believe) also delivered mine about 9 at night after driving straight through to the farm way back into the Virginia woods. I did go meet him on the main road because he would have had a devil of a time turning around if he had gotten lost.

Thanks, I have about 6 hrs on it now with no complaints. I'm loving the loader as I never had one before. I use it for alot of things I never thought I would of. Now I have to find some forks for it.
