All that I can say is thank God for a cab tractor while mowing this afternoon one of the back fields with 88 inch flail I suddenly noticed the sky got black to my horror the tractor was surrounded by bees even though I was inside a cab I was still scared I'm highly allergic not when I was young but somehow as I got older I actually swell up and cannot breathe. Took a quick picture with my cell phone unbelievable, I've never seen honeybees act so aggressive they chased me down the entire field stinging the hydraulic hose lines covers and anything they could stick their stinger into . so for all you new tractor owners who are on the fence of decision look at that picture and imagine your eyes swollen shut take care
My wife 'use to' keep honeybees. She received 5 stings one day and required a fast trip to the emergency room - fast meaning 20 minutes away. Once there she passed out. Blood pressure was nill. They gave her an injection of adrenalin to combat the bee venom. Did the trick. She was also given a prescription for a 'bee kit' consisting of a syringe and a bottle of liquid with instructions to inject quickly upon being stung. As you mention, for those who have developed an allergic reaction to bee stings, swelling of the airway can prove fatal. Might want to chat with your Doc about packing a 'bee kit' in that nice cab of yours.
