whats this about letting a MX5100 HST idle 5 mins before killing it.when i park my tractor i let it idle while i let the loader an rear hay forks down then i kill it.
I think you guy's are blowing this turbo thing out of proportion. I've had turbo's on a lot of different diesels over the years. Having a turbo on a diesel is a positive not negative. It makes a diesel more efficient and it give a much better torque curve. Diesels aren't all about HP it's more about low end usable torque.
Worried about idling it at shut down? You only have to idle it for an extended period (5 min.) if it's been working at high load, the EGT's are high and there isn't a running at reduced load period before shut down (like driving back to the barn or garage). Under normal conditions, just let it idle for about 30 seconds to let the turbo spool down and turn the key off. It's not that big of a deal and there is a lot to be gained for the little inconvenience.

If you're still scared of the turbo then I vote for the MX4700...
My non-turbo'd L3940 has all the power I need, & I never have to think about a turbo: cooling it down or how expensive it's gonna be to replace it some day (hopefully later rather than sooner).
I prefer the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stup** ... I mean Sunshine) whenever possible :thumbsup:
I understand, different strokes for different folks, just giving my 2 cents.
My non-turbo'd L3940 has all the power I need, & I never have to think about a turbo: cooling it down or how expensive it's gonna be to replace it some day (hopefully later rather than sooner).

Having a turbo is simpler than not having a turbo? :confused2: How so?
The simplest most trouble free way to gain power and efficiency there is on a diesel. One pressure lubricated bearing. That is the sum of the moving parts. Seems very KISS to me:thumbsup:
Hi guys...does anyone know if the L4400 HST 4 WD can lift up or down a pallet of bricks off a tray truck using a pallet forks? Can it shift timber cabins etc?
I cant get a bh92 on an MX5100 in Australia and the other bhs are too small..
can anyone explain the issue of the rollback angle is much better on the loader of the MX4700 or MX5100 than the L4400
