Funny you should ask. I just received mine yesterday. It looks to be built very well. But there's no snow to use it on, yet.

IMO their plow would be a better choice.

I've got both the expander and the plow.

The expander is nice. I'm not sure it would be a great choice for heavy digging. But for light material movement it really makes a difference in how much the poor BX's bucket can hold. It worked well for moving some mulch and topsoil in my yard.

I'm not quite sure its 100% more capacity, but it feels like a solid 75% more material in each bucketful and that makes the projects go a whole lot faster.

the bucket holds approx 2 full wheelbarrows now, with the expander it could go to 4 ?

I've had my expander for about a week now. At first I was having trouble getting the lower clamps to secure the bucket. Harry from BXpanded was very helpful with his suggestions. In the end a couple of bushings and longer bolts did the trick. I used the expander to move a mountain of snow the other day and it worked like a charm.

is that bushing necessary only on the bx 25? did you get the cutting edge option? thanks for the reply

The bushing was my idea. No matter how much I centered or shifted the bucket from side to side, I couldn't get the lower clamps to wrap around the cutting edges of the bucket. Using the bushings and longer bolts solved that problem. They stayed put and didn't budge an inch.

I do have the cutting edge. It's bolted onto the edge of the expander. It got scraped up pretty well moving the last snowfall around. I think it will end up being a good addition.

Hey Dan, Im considering one of these and was wondering how they fit into or on the bucket and how the top clamps work. Sorry to bring up and old post but a few pictures would be worth a thousand words.

Thanks Chris

Based on Baryon's experience, we made a slight change in the clamp to accomodate the variations in buckets. No bushing is required.

It's very nice to know that you folks at BXpanded are so responsive to customer experiences with your products. I must say I still love the bucket expander. It makes moving mulch or snow a breeze, saving several trips in the process. Well worth the investment. It attaches easily. There is a gap at the bottom end of the expander that slips over the bottom edge of the BX25's bucket. Side clamps wrap around the welded cutting edge of the bucket (see my photos above).

Harry, can you tell me how many holes you have to drill in the bucket to install the expander? thanks

Hello all, I'm new to the tractor world so please forgive my probably dumb question. Why not just drill a couple of holes along the top of the bucket to allow chain hooks? I know it may look a little ghetto but would it not work, cause bucket fatigue along that ridge? Perhaps the bucket is too hard to drill through. I'm not trying to know the BXpanded product just trying to understand why drilling seems to be a bad idea. I've got a BX24 and really needed somewhere to latch onto to move a potted tree. Seems like an oversight in design to not include something on both ends of the bucket.

Because you'll bend your bucket...Eventually, you'll put something too heavy and wreck the bucket.

Get a carry-all for the 3-point.

I'm not sure how the BXexpanded hooks prevent the bucket from bending if I put something too heavy on the front.

I have not, if they ever made one for the B series I'd jump on it in a minute!

You asked about chain hooks. These are generally used to hook chains on to lift things.

I now read your post as looking for these chains to attached the bucket expander.

The system that Bxpanded has come up with works very nicely, and can't see any reason to make substantial changes to it.
