Lime

A friend of mine had approx. 8 acres limed via spreader truck a couple of weeks ago. He said he checked a few places and wound up paying $ 40 per acre x 8 - $ 320 total. That sounded like a very good price to me.

SE Oklahoma. $24 per acre spread. Just got that quote yesterday.

Our normal application of lime is 2-4 tons per acre. 1 ton is not much. Of course the soil PH determined by a soil test tells you exactly what you need to apply. Ken Sweet

The $320 price for 8 acres was also for 1 ton per acre, no soil test, etc. - just a typical application in these parts. Good point on the soil test Ken - seems a must if you expect at least good results.

Yes sir ... my test called for 1 ton per acre. I don't much care for that guessing game when it comes to my money getting spread around!!!
