Ballast help with what to load tires with

has anyone had their tires loaded with methanol for any length of time? I ask because i am concerned with rim rot or break down of the rubber tire as a result. I would like to have rim guard or beet juice but my dealer only offers methanol and i wanted to know your experiences with it. Thanks in advance

RimGuard is a very good biodegradable product to use that won't damage the rims. But the local supplier here is learning that the valve stems need to be metal and not rubber type. The rubber valve stems have glued in metal inserts that the RimGuard will break down that glue allowing the center to separate. So if needed, change valve stems when adding the RimGuard.

Did it myself with RV anti-freeze, really easy to do. RV anti-freeze is propylene glycol. Non toxic, non flamable, non corrosive. Only downside I know of is the price @ $4 per gallon at tractor supply. A lot of guys use Windshield Washer Fluid winter mix. Which is Methanol water mix, so must not be too bad.

The local Kubota dealership handles NH also and has been in business since the early 50's. The use windshield wiper fluid exclusively. The owners and much of the staff also farm, so I trust they know what they are doing.

When I was looking for a local supplier, I checked the same link kennyv shown, but they are all too far. I emailed rimguard for an option and they sent me a closer location that wasn't on the list. FYI, they were slow in checking emails, so you might want to call them instead.

Just to let you know, the archives are full of numerous discussions on this subject. Some of them go on for pages and pages. There's nothing wrong with asking the question anew, but at the same time you can find tons more ideas and opinions by using the search function. Good luck with your decision.

That's the route I went as well. Depending on the climate where you live and the size or your tires, the price may not be too bad.

3 years now only with methinal,know another guy with his filled with methinal about 6 years,so....don't know,,believe its a good bit better than calcuim on the rims and metal parts,but don't know about the rubber,,you can smell it somehow on a warm/hot day,,no leaks so must be coming through the tires??
