Front Snowblower on 4720

Is a snowblower available for a 4720? I can't find one. if there is one, how is it driven, how big is it, and most important does it work good. I need some help finding something pretty quick.

Erskine makes a front blower, that drives from
the rear 540 pto on the tractor. They are a
nice blower, a bit pricey, but work very well

Save yourself some time. Use the search function on this site. You have front mounted, rear mounted, after market and OEM.

Snowblowers is one of the favorite topics of this forum it seems. Front mounted are more expensive than 3pt rear mounted, but those that have them love em (both front and rear).

You can get PTO driven or hydraulic driven....

I would buy a rear mount for 2-3K before I would even consider spending 13K on that unit!!!!!!!

I helped mount an Erskine snowblower on a Deere. The owner was making the move to front mount because he found it too dicey blowing off his drive driving backwards with his rear mount. The front wheels would too often go "over the edge", according to him.
He was very happy with the front blower for the mile long drive. Said it was well worth the price, and he didn't have to be turned in the seat looking back.

You could contact this place and see if they have local dealers and mounts for 4x20 series. Saw one of their units on 3520 CAB, but no direct experience with how well they function.

John Deere makes the SB2176 if you have $13K to spend on it.

Pronovost makes them in Quebec, painted green of course. JD ships it to the states, then charges Canadians a premium to have them brought back into Canada. Boo JD/Frontier.

Has nothing to do with Customs or customs.

It's simple predatory business practice. Case in point, Bombardier ATV's, Snowmobiles, SeaDoos are more expensive in Canada - where they are actually made, than after they are shipped to the US market. Why is a Chev Silverado made in Oshawa, ON, $10,000 cheaper after it has been shipped to the US. Why is a Corvette $29K more in Canada?

Forgot the tractor part. Before JD closed the Welland, ON plant, why were 300CX FEL's made in Canada, significantly less expensive after being shipped to the US?

WRONG!! Well, sort of..... Canada Customs are miserable, but there is little added cost. One must pay GST on all products imported (5%) and a 6.1% duty on goods not made in North America.

Cinder is right, it's predatory pricing, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Ford, GM, Dodge, Bombardier, Svfara, Mastercraft, Bayliner.....etc, etc, etc are no better.

When the Canadian dollar is good, and the Canadian dealers whine about no one 'buying local', just remember what they do to the consumer when the dollar is at 0.70USD. I have no pity whatsoever.

Someone I'm sure will chime in here and tell us that it's not the dealers fault, as the mother companies dictate their prices. I don't care, as a group they're gouging.

Now, let's get this thread back to how to put a front snowblower on a 4x20!!!

I can see your point if you're looking at a brand new, cab model, for 50k!! 13K is over half of what I paid for my 4720. 13K is also a lot of other toys/attachments!

Get one from JD. They are built by Rad technoligies in Quebec, and are driven by a mid - PTO.

DO NOT buy that one. You can get the framwe mounted blower (RAD) for way less.
