This is local to some areas of Moravia. They have these half covered entrances called zudro. Gives just a fraction of shade/rain protection and adds character to the house.

Looks good. The masonry & stucco construction lends itself well to that type of thing. I like walled entrance courtyards too. I'd have one if I could afford it
