Hi Guys....
I ahve one of the older model GR's and it drove me nuts at the beginning with leaking. I kept after them and they finally put the rebuild kit in and no more leaks, but I still had the lack of power everyone complains about. The district representive showed up and my dealer come out and got the machine while he was there and he did the fine tuning on the pressures and told me that it now "puilled as well as any GR out there". That said, I STILL think the tranny is weak...however....I had a lot of strom damage and the tree cutters just piled logs that were at least 8 feet long and 38" in diameter (red oak) off the side of my terrice. I didn't think it would dislodge the logs wiich looked like a pile of pick up sticks (remember them?), but I dicided to give it a try. Got a peice of chain and hooked on and to my surprise it dragged every one of them out, in some cases pushing others out of the way. I was on a slick brick terrace and I think the AWD is what enabled it to move them. I have a Gravely I usually use for stuff like that, but in this case I think all it would have done is spin. Yes, Locknut I am actually praising the GR.... : ) I do beleive mine would climb that hill that someone posted earlier, but I don't know for sure of course.
So all taht said...it doesn't leak any more and appears to work reasonably well. I do wish teh tranny was a bit stronger, but after my episode with teh logs, I'm not going to complain. Good luck!
Chris
