I'd till up next years patch now, a new patch. You need room to rotate crops.

Bt tilling now, you can allow weeds to sprout now on that new patch and then till them up. Allow them to sprout again, till them, etc.

It's fun actually. Fallow ground in advance sort of thing.:D

I am eyeing up next years spot right now, maybe the next years also. I could do as you say for the first year then plant buckwheat the second year and garden the third.
