Very nice looking equipment, my husband would like all that. My little 25 acre farm is in Indiana and its leased out. We could not justify such fine equipment for just that.

Hubbies old tractor.
My old motorhome I'm getting ready to sell, high mileage but ok.
My newer one.

I have a TroyBilt Pony tiller for my garden, I really like it.

But I'm trying to get all the stuff out of my garden that I will can, so I can take off. We are going to Livingston for a few days this week, hope to catch some fish. Livingston is bigger and a nice looking body of water.

I'm hoping in July to wonder through Indiana, checking on my little farm they are walking one of the big coal shovels across to make sure its not totally destroyed, then on to Wisconsin and Minnesota for some fishing or just some looking.

I'm going to enjoy everything I can of this old world while I am still able to. Also raising what food I can to avoid as many additives as I can but sadly that isn't much.

Anyone want to rent an RV lot on Lake Conroe? It's in Walnut Cove, a so so RV mobile home subdivision. $200 a month and you sign up for utilities, has water, sewer, and electric. I own the lot and TT next door to it too. My lots are very clean. I've tried putting this on Craigslist twice, must be doing something wrong, it says its there but never shows up. I have 4 more we need to get set up for renting, just no time. Also the subdivision has Lake Conroe access.

Well got some interest and postings on this thread anyway hasn't it?

I'm going ahead and saving, and growing stuff, and enjoying life and waiting to see what happens in 2012, but not to concerned about it, but it might be all over then anyway!!:confused2:

I don't think "Global Warming" is what is impacting severely on States and communities at this time. I think "Climate Change" is impacting very severly. Nashville TN just had a 500 year rain/flood event. 6-10 inches of rain seem to be the norm anymore. Anyone like the winter we just experienced? Global Warming is a phrase that was coined and used to defect focus away from Climate Change.

Gator I agree with you...we here in Georgia in the Atlanta area had our 500 yr. flood last year after years and years of drought..the earth has natural changes in it's climate but remember there are folks with driven by profit motives that will make the the situation serve their purpose. Sane people will continue to demand proven scientific facts before jumping to conclusions, I think and hope.:)

Climate change is easy to prove. Just look at the Sahara, it use to be lush vegitation. Of course, we used to be under 1000 ft of ice too.

I agree with the climate change, not necessarily global warming.

Who knows we may be in a million year cycle or 10000 year cycle or something. Though all kinds of research has been done we really have no way of knowing exactly where we are in universe time, we can't even have touched on it.

If you really think about it, its amazing, something like us exists at all. As Hawkings says you likely would not want to meet people from elsewhere in the universe as they are probably just looking for food, resources, or places to colonize. We could be all 3!

Our existence is very fragile, a few degrees temperature one way or another, more or less water, or dessertification like areas of Africa and food will no longer grow. Just amazing.

Having said that, I'm enjoying my existence while I am here. Heck, don't worry, be happy!!

Now to go fertilize that garden, 4 lids have popped on my 6 I took out of the water bath canner.

I think we are having a hand in it this time though. To much pollution and disturbance of air currents not to change something.

/ A Credible Global warming Scientist! #71
Exactly and humans had no hand in the change...just the normal cycle of climate.

Just like the big scare about the hole in the ozone layer and how mankind is going to be burned to a crisp in a few years because of cosmic radiation and the damage we're doing to the ozone layer. Oops, that was natural. never mind.

I'm not one to fall to every doomsday cry that's made. Does that mean that I think we should keep dumping all the polutants into the environment? No. But at the same time, I don't believe that the world's comming to an end either. Things will happen which are beyound man's control. Someday, the earth will be hit by another ELE level asteroid. It's happened before, it will happen again. As for the earthquake in Peru, that is nothing compaired to forces the earth has seen in it's past. The earthquakes which occured when the Rocky Mountains were formed would make that pale in compairison. The Columbia River Gorge here in Washington was formed in a mater of weeks when the ice dam retaining the inland sea from the last ice age broke. At one time, Canada was tropical forest. The earth has been both much warmer and colder than it is today amd will be again.

To claim that the current warming has reach a point that it cannot be stopped is preposterous as it has been much warmer than this and turned around. Is it possable than man has had an impact on the speed of change? Possably, but I don't think so. If man truely has the ability to impact world climate, then he should be able to reverse the direction of change. Show me one scientist with a plausable theory on how to reverse the current cycle so that it's headed toward the next ice age. Not saying that man could agree and actually accomplish it. Just show me theory. Personally, I don't think man has that kind of ability/technology yet.

So, does the fact that NASA says the Earth is actually cooling, and the fact that the ice cap at the North Pole is actually increasing in size and that the latest issue of the Reader's Digest reports that the air is 41% cleaner, now, than it was in 1990, and that we now know that the global warming "scientists" were admittedly lying for the past ten years to cover up all the truths that were oh so inconvenient to their point of view, and that Al Gore's "hockey stick" computer model is designed to produce a "hockey stick" chart indicate that the Earth is rapidly warming, or not?

It's one thing to believe the sky is falling just because someone on TV told you so. It's another thing, entirely, to look for yourself, see that the sky is not only intact, but actually improving, and still fall for the ruse.

It's one thing to read excerpts and commentary, and another to read the actual reports. I couldn't find where NASA reported an increase in Arctic ice on the NASA site. Some British paper said something like that. Might be like the climate scientist's complaint against the work of another guy who was predicting a certain rise in sea level due to GW. The doubters loved that and jumped right on it....unfortunately, they failed to note that the complaining scientist felt the other author had under calculated the effect. The scientific literature is a bit like the Bible. Decide what you want to see and by gosh, there's your proof. Check out Roy Spencer's page for the latest global temperature. It's current to April. Spencer doesn't believe in AGW, so I guess his reports of the temps are believable?

CO2 keeps going up, too:

Trends in Carbon Dioxide

But that's OK, because it can go up as a result of higher temperatures and so it doesn't have to be the cause, right? Oh....problem....it's going up, but we don't believe the temperature is going up. Drat. Better check with Fox to see what I believe.

I agree. I couldn't find where NASA said the ice cap was increasing, BUT I DID find where NASA said it was decreasing. New NASA Satellite Survey Reveals Dramatic Arctic Sea Ice Thinning - NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Most people will just believe what they want to believe about climate change and will quote whatever source agrees with what they want to believe. If you don't like taxes and think you are paying for scientists (a drop in the bucket, like welfare by the way) to tell you to burn less fossil fuels then you will quote Reader's Digest or Rush Limbaugh. If you think Al Gore is a swell guy and climate scientists are geniuses that will save the planet then you will quote NPR or something like that. For most people it's all based on emotion, what they want to believe, whether they think someone is taking their hard-earned cash, scaring their kids or saving the planet. Me, I don't know what the heck to believe anymore there is so much BS out there.

There is very little objectivity in this discussion that I can see.

And by the way while this scientist may have big credentials he is 90 years old after all. When you are ninety years old and could die any day I would imagine you have a very different perspective on the future and what is important and is not.

I have peace of mind no matter what happens. I fully realize that man is not in control of this planet, our Maker is.

He will decide when the end is, not man. And I look forward to that day. I hope it happens tonight!

But that is just me......

BTW, there is a very good book that explains everything you need to know.... the Bible.

That's for darn sure! A total waste of time but it feels good to express one's opinion. :D

Yeah. You're right. I guess everybody needs to blow off steam given the crazy world we live in. Here I am - just another guy with an opinion!

Actually, "climate change" was coined to cover up the fact that "global warming" wasn't actually occurring, and was beginning to fail in its mission to bring in the donors.

With "climate change", any weather event can be attibuted to "the cause", frightening those who get their "facts" from CNN, and the money keeps rolling in.

Ok, I really tried to let this go but this is an example of what I am talking about - On your first sentence there- what source did you get that "fact" from?

Also- weather events seem mostly to be paid attention to by the other side. For example - saying " we had a lot of snow this winter or it's been cold this week = where is Al Gore now?" That's what I have noticed anyway.

So you think it's just a big scam to get your money? - because I really don't know myself. I hope it is actually, but I don't see a lot to base that opinion on myself. But I'm just a little guy with an internet connection that doesn't know much.

According to the National Academy of Sciences, the phrase "climate change" is growing in preferred use to "global warming" because it helps convey that there are other changes in addition to rising temperatures. Global warming can be considered part of climate change along with changes in precipitation, sea level, etc.
