My BX has already had 2 coats of Collinite wax,I love that wax about as much as I love my BX. The wax seems to last forever.

I let mine sit out in the rain every once in a while.

Me to. I'm trying to remember but I think the water hose was laying out one day a few years ago when I had a different tractor and I rinsed it off. I know I did rinse off the F2680 last year.
I guess my answer has to be......no!:)
I think a light coat of dust protects the paint from harmful UV rays.:)

You know you're a redneck when....

My brother bought a boat last week. He parked the $13000 boat in his garage and left his $25000 truck setting outside. He didn't want anyone to steal his boat.

Actually mine is being washed as I type this. Hope it starts raining a little harder, these misty rains some times just make the dust big splotches.:)

I let mine sit out in the rain every once in a while.

That is my practice also.

I do hose off the tires when I think they are going to track too much mud into the garage.

"Too much mud" is a relative term. If they are muddy, it is probably raining and hosing off the tractor in the rain is not a lot of fun.

I wash the tractor down when I am washing the excessive dust from the radioator screen (it runs a bit warm if it gets too clogged) or when the clay doesn't all want to come out of the bucket.

It also gets washed each time it rains and a rince if the dew is heavy enough.

Well, I just cannot understand shiny, clean tractor fetish at all. I don't get it.

Wow ! If I'm not mistaken, you waxed the frame AND put tire dressing on the entire tire including inside the tread. :D

Trick photography. Here's the before. I had just dragged my field and the tractor and I were covered in choking dust. All I did was drop the field cultivator, pull around and hose it off. The hose is in the one photo.

Took the picture with the tires still wet. That said, I get 'em dirty, then I clean 'em up. It isn't that hard.

I recognize this tractor! It's what mine looked like when they delivered it.:)

Hey, I recognize this tractor. It's what mine looks like after I own it for a few weeks and before it rains.:)

Where is WaxMan? I bet he'd like this thread.

I like mine clean, although it usually isn't.

You can clean a tractor?!:confused2:
I wonder if you guys have any American Flyer trains still in the box with the original bill of sale?
Do you actually use the tractors, or just wash and wax them?
Man I wish mine looked like some of yours- mine wasn't even as pretty when I bought it NEW!
Mostly when I get near it I just want to get on and do something with the pallet forks, backhoe, boxblade, winch or bucket.
How do you justify the time in your mind?

Aw, come on. Guys geek over their trucks, their Harleys, sports cars, their boats, etc, all the time. It is no indication of whether they use them or not.

When people go looking for a used machine, truck, boat, Harley, etc, What is they look for? Yup. They look for a guy who was geek enough to keep it sharp.

Some guys don't have time or won't bother with their tractor's appearance. That's fine. Some guys do. Just the difference in people, that's all.

Don't get my meaning confused - I think its great that some choose to geek over whatever, car, boat, tractor, etc. - I'm trying to understand how one finds the time to do so. It has to take a tremendous amount of time to get things looking so good, yes?
How does one find the time and still get things done with the actual tractor is what I'm asking.
