DUH!!!! I don't believe anyone ever sold anything for more than someone is willing to pay:confused2:. That's just the way the system works.

/ Reputable Dealer #104
yea it works that way, but everyone is paying more then their worth so the pricing is justified resulting in people like me complaining..lol

oh and what good would it do for me to start name dropping? the price was $10,200 but after shipping + tax it was 11k.

Smoody, I dont know anyone selling 2610s for 11k, thats an outrageous price. We would sell a 2610-D 4x4 in primo condition with a new koyker 140 loader for around $8900 tops.
Heck the way the economy is going you could buy a deere for 11k.

So.... lets bring this down to earth, cause I dont know of anybody selling them for 11k, if you do, lets name some names heh?

We have been selling Yanmars since the 90s, and members of the old Yanmar club on Yahoo before it merged with TBN, and we plan on staying around a lot longer too. (Lord willing).
In other words, we have seen dealers come & go.

But 11k is really off the charts.

Ernie you have a smaller Yanmar 2220D w/FEL listed at $8,900, you saying the larger 2610D w/FEL will be the same price?

also I see a 1820D w/FEL for $7,900

Whats funny is I was serious..why would it be the same price when its more machine? I think the 10k range would be it if you were more honest about it instead of trying to make me out to be wrong.

and if you get to 7k i'll take 2..

The 2220 is a newer machine.

Gee Smoody, thats great, but the price is 8900 not 7000.

Dang tractorErnie,

That is a great price for a Reconditioned YM2610D with a Brand NEW Koyker.
8,900 - 3,700 = 5,200 for a Reconditioned YM2610D

I do not get the argument, one third the cost is for new equipment (FEL). Labor, overhead and materials put profit marginal in my mind. Heck, got my YM1600 from a previous owner at 2,200 then I pay someone to Refurbish 1,500 to 2,500 guess-ti-mate for parts and labor.

Inspect
Remove and Replace Parts
Re Inspect
Paint Prep and Painting
Lots of labor involved.

Not a bad deal at all "tractorErnie"

EDIT: That is a great deal for the 2220 D also, wish I had the Cash!!!

Rhett, you should read the entire thread.

The argument is about the markup on the machines and that reconditioning a good running imported yanmar tractor with fresh paint etc pushes the prices to high in my opinion and rivals US branded (10 yr old deere - kubota) on price.

2610D isn't a $5200 tractor, more like 4,000 range tractor and the koyker loader isn't $3700, making it to me a $7,000 tractor as I stated.

The way things are going, Yanmar is so main stream now, the other grey market brands (Iseki, Hinomoto, Mitsubishi, etc) are the true grey market deals now.

If everyone on here was to be honest we ALL bought a yanmar because we needed a good reliable cheap tractor (cheap as in price not quality) without breaking the bank on buying a US branded machine, now that is gone.

I used to pay a nickel for a candy bar and a dime for a comic book, and that's all they are worth. Maybe S. Carolina is different, but in the rest of the world things are priced based on what people are willing to pay.

Not to overstate the obvious, but unless my college training in business is wrong, prices are dictated by what the market will bear i.e. what one is willing to pay. Markup is irrelevant.

/ Reputable Dealer #114
Gosh, maybe I have been giving them away all these years.:D

Time to raise prices?:confused2:

/ Reputable Dealer #115
it doesn't take a college degree in business to understand that logic, even though I have 2

So why are all you willing to pay those prices when you can buy new or newer used US brands? answer that one, either uninformed or there are some really good salesman on this site....which its apparent they are.

Smoody, every once in a while a knowitall shoot from the lip kinda guy comes around, and manages to insult almost everyone here.

Soon they wonder why no one answers their questions.

I believe you have reached that point.

You are the first to make my TBN ignore list:D

I didnt just come along. I been around awhile. I sure never claimed to be a "knowitall" that would be the yanmar dealers these days who can't ever be wrong.

You know what they say "truth hurts", I don't ignore anyone and try to help people on here, opinions are free. You have yours and I have mine. if I can ever help you in a post I will, so grow up.

Can you tell me how i insulted anyone?
