Tractor
B2630
Greetings All, first time post. Thanks to everyone here for all the info I was able to gather from searching this forum, excellent resource. Bought my first tractor last Feb. B7100, real workhorse but became too small for some of my projects. Sold to upgrade, went to good home. Tough decision between B2620, 2630 and JD 2320 or 2520. In the end the JD was out price range at 17,500 for tractor and FEL, 2320 was 15,500 for same. I have been use to the B7100 so anything would probably feel like a dream. The B2620 would be all I would probably ever need but I just couldn't pass up on the position control of the 2630. I confirmed the deal this morning for the 2630 with FEL and should be here in a week or so, dealer had to find from across the State as inventory around here is real thin. I had to basically use this site to get all my info. for decision making, again thanks to all. Pictures to follow.

Congratulations on your new tractor; good machine.

Welcome to the site! I was unfamiliar with the B7100 and the B2630 so I had to educate myself. Your new B2630 sounds like a great machine especially with the attachments you have. What are your main uses for the B2630?
Take care,
Jim

Mowing 2 acres grass hay field on occassion but is usually cut and bailed by neighbour for their horses. Clearing small sucker trees, some yard and landscaping work, tilling and a lot of FEL dirt moving. I'm looking forward to the 3 range HST and feel it is a better overall choice than the JD 2520 at $1,700 more.

I think you made a smart move in spending a little extra for the position control. It's one of the two things I wish I had on my B2620. Other than that mine has done everything I needed well, and I'm sure you will find the 26 hp just fine as I have.

Thanks ChuckinNH, I actually went with the B2620 in part because you sounded pretty happy with it and I know it will do everything I have for it. I changed at the last minute and had my dealer swap back for the 2630. I think the 26hp will do great in this tractor weight and I also like the 3 cyl., I've read it is a little smoother than the 4 cyl.

Do you mind me asking what you paid for your B2630 and what attachments came with it. I wanted the B2920 but really want the tilt steering and position 3pt

I paid 15,800 out the door for the tractor with FEL. I already have a tiller, BB and RFM, 48" on the last two, the tiller is a Howard brand that is about 52". I was initially really looking at the B2620 and was quoted 14,200 on that one but at the last minute I opted for the 2630 mainly for the position control. I actually just picked it up yesterday and got to put a couple hours in the seat today. I'm finding out that the telescoping lift arms are going to be real nice as well as the little upgrades the 2630 and 3030's come with.

That's a very good price - I also recently purchased one - to be delivered this friday :):) . I got the same with a MMM, and am at 18,400. MMM is $2700 list, so figuring I got it for around $2400 you probably did a bit better than me. Anyhow I'm so looking forward to getting mine !! Keep me updated on how you like yours and post some pics !

Congratulations on your new purchase! Sounds like you did pretty well, our prices are about the same not counting your MMM. I think there are some deals around with some older inventory at some dealers.

Yes, they have $1000 back on the 2630's currently, I guess since they don't sell a lot of them (B3030 sells instead?). Anyhow, as far as I could tell, its basically the same tractor as the B3030, just a few less HP - which actually may work to my advantage since it will run smoother, and I don't need the extra HP. Everyone I've heard from says the B2630 will lose traction anyway before you max out the HP.

The one I'm getting is actually a 2009 - if that makes any difference. It was shipped /received in Nov. 2009. I'm not sure if they have even produced any 2010's (yet).

I can't wait !!

Congrats on the new tractor! I have a B2630 and love it. The "deluxe" features don't sound important but after using them, I wouldn't want a tractor without them. You may want to upgrade to some 5 foot impliments though.

Hello there cephus. Did you ever get your tractor delivered ? I'm still waiting, I ran into a bit of a stumbling block - see other posts....:(

I think I have the ball rolling again on mine however.

Anyhow just wondering how your purchase of a B2630 is working out.

Hi Dave, Yes I picked up my B2630 on March 19th and it is great. I was previously on a '92 B7100 so the first thing I was amazed at was the power steering, among many others. Turns out I got a couple "throw in's" when all was done. I got a new seat, other one was wheather faded so dealer bought me a new one. When I got home I noticed the bucked seemed to be attached differently than what I was used to but just figured it was the newer Kubotas. After looking again, I came back here and did a search on the Kubota Quick Attach and discovered mine had one, cool extra. Now I have to go and buy a pallet fork, maybe the dealer did that on purpose. Not a lot of seat time yet but in short, I love it. Good luck on getting yours.

Thanks for the response Cephus. Glad yours is working out so well. Hopefully I'll be in the B2630 club within the week.
