Very nice. It looks like you bought the 2-link chains, is that correct?

We too got a lot snow down this way, anywhere from about 14" - 20". I spent about 6 hours today just clearing the driveway, and slide a lot of the way doing it. The likeliness of us having a winter like this anytime soon again is slim to none, but chains are something I'll have to invest in.

yes, those are two link chains. They are awesome for sure. Get the tensioners too if you buy some!

The snow stopped here in South AA county at around 5:00 on Saturday. I went out for a couple of hours until I got too cold. Got up on Sunday and waited for the sun to warm up a little and was out clearing the neighrborhood until about 5:00 again. The Kubota worked great! I worked everythign to get the driveway clean. Snowblower and shovel as well. Here's a couple of pics.

What kind of surface are you using them on? I boght a pair put them on, went down my asphalt driveway and left chain marks all the way. I can't use them because of that, I do 6 of my neighbors drives and can't leave those scuff marks behind. Any body want to buy a slightly used set of 2 link chains?

Are they "v-bar" chains? Regular chains should not hurt your drivway unless you spin like Wayne wrote

Ughhhh.... you had to ask.... The brown haired dog is an FLD. (Funny Looking Dog). Actually, he is a lab poodle mix. Don't anyone say it if you know what he is........ I had nothing to do with getting it, wifey got it when I was in Iraq, he was supposed to be a mean attack dog.... That he is not. But, he does not shed, and has turned out to be our best friend. He's got a great attitude, loves everyone and loves life.

Regarding the chains... Look the driveway needs sealing every couple of years. My chains are not leaving marks unless I spin, and I'd be doing a lot more spinning if I did not have those chains, I just could not get power to the tires. Now I can stall the 35 HP engine in mid range if I wanted to. This stuff is heavy too!

In Aberdeen MD we got 30-32 inches. I sure wish I had access to my tractor (in Oklahoma). Had to dig out a path to the road by hand and then bulldoze my way through with my dodge 2500 diesel. Took several running starts but finally got to the road about 80 feet away. After that I just drove back an forth over it till it was packed down. Shoveling that mush snow was out of the question for me and my wife. My lawn tractor with blade was unable to push it because it was heavy and wet on the bottom. It would just push up into a solid unmoveable pile in about 6 feet.

I'm about 45min west of DC, and we must have gotten around 30". There were several 5-6' drifts around the barn. I got the same chains (2 link ladder) right after the last snowfall, got tired of slipping slidding. Next to the Curtis cab, probably one of my best investments!!! Our driveways are paved, and they are very easy on the asphalt.

My neighbor has a Massey 15xx, I think. He has a contract with VDOT for snow removal, and sent it into town to help clear. He driver wound up blowing the hydraulic pump on it, so I cleared his driveway too. I figure I did about 1 mile of driveways this weekend. My little 4210 just kept chugging along and worked her little heart out.

Sounds like you guys are really digging it! (No pun intended) It's fun when you get used to the cold. But it does get a little old when you haven't seen the ground for 3 months.

Forester: I moved to Maryland 30 years ago to escape Upstate New York Winters... This is not the way it is supposed to be! We usually get snow, and five days later it is all melted. Might not happen this time... And they are calling for more snow tomorrow. I like some snow, but enough is enough, there is a reason I don't live in Buffalo!
