He's right ... also avoid writing in the other websites like Facebook ... if its in writing it can haunt you in the future.

Eddie right now as hard as it may seem take care of #1 and get your house in order. Sorry this is happening to you.

Thank you. I appreciate this and have tried to keep any of the facts out of it. At first, I wanted to strike back and let everyone know what happened, but in doing so, even just a little, I felt ashamed for what I'd said. I don't want to do anything that I'll be ashamed of, so I'm keeping this about myself and how I'm dealing with it.

I'm not worried about lawyers, there's just too much that I have that she wouldn't want made public. Without going into details, I made the big mistake of finding out what happened, and that, more then anything, has hardend my heart towards her.

I just want it to end smoothly and to be able to move on. My pain is self inflicted, and I realize this. If I could turn off my brain, that would solve everything. Since I'm not going to do that, I come here and go on facebook.

So many of you have really helped out with sharing your stories and offering your support. Most of you, I've never even met, and to take the time to offer me your support because of what I've posted on here over the years is very humbling.

So sorry to hear this news. I went through a similar thing 10 years ago and it was the toughest thing that I've ever dealt with, including the deaths of my parents.

One thing that I did that I'll never regret was to talk to a counselor weekly for a couple of months. She was able to give me insight into the whys of what happened and also to help me focus in a new direction. This is a major trauma and it is perfectly normal to just not be able to think straight for awhile. Give yourself that, keep exercising and taking care of yourself.

I helped one friend through a divorce and another through the untimely death of a spouse (they were still newlyweds). Both said pretty much the same thing. The first thought meditation helped, practicing thought control/thought blocking. The other anti-depressants, sleep medications and psychiatrist.

You are under a lot of stress, 'change of environment' is supposed to be the most stressful thing humans undergo. Find some activities that help deal with the stress. Tennis lessons, dancing lessons, volunteer activities etc Volunteerism might be good, giving is a two-way street of happiness.

Like others I only know you through your posts but you seem like an upstanding and talented guy. Good luck!

Sorry Eddie, I will not repeat what has been said, there was some good advice. When it happened to me I felt like you do now, thought I'd never get over it, how did I screw up, can't believe I didn't see any signs, ect. It will get better though it does take some time.

I will advise you not to try and work through the legal aspects without counsel. So many times I have seen people think they could come to an equitable settlement on there own only to find agreements change when they make it to the judge.

Fire up that dozer and go knock down some trees. It will make you feel better.

Eddie, One year ago today I lost an immediate family member. I joined the local recreation center and started walking the track for 30 minutes, three days a week. It's great therapy time. I've maintained the schedule for one year now and have increased my time to an hour a day, usually 5 days per week. I'm not sure what's the matter with me but I actually look forward to going! I'm healthier for it and it gives time to think things through with a clear mind.

I'm very sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to you.- I didn't see the other thread, and I'm glad I didn't because it's none of my business.- You don't need to let everyone know what happened.- You have great support here, and you have some great friends that can help you through this.

I've been reading on here for several years, and just finally decided to join.-I don't have much time to spend on here because of work.

But I have read 'many of your threads.'- You are very talented and do great work.- Not much I can add to this, because you have received some great advice!

But the main thing is to stay busy.- My brother that lives in Dorset,VT went through this.- He wouldn't eat and didn't want to do anything.- So I called my two other brothers and we loaded up our ATVs and showed up at his doorstep without notice. - We stayed a week with him and did a lot of ATV riding.- We kept him busy and he sure started eating while we was there.

All three of my brothers live in different states.- When we got home my brother called us and said we really helped him.

So please stay busy, and you need to make sure to eat to keep your strength up.
