1*I'd say you are right.1*Possibly the most agile of any scut in existence. Flat out.
2*It would take 4 wheel steer to improve upon it, but that feature would be more common to a big lawn mower like a Deere X series, than a scut.
3*very.A good deal of my mowing involves tight spots.
3*How maneuverable is the BX1860?
But a Z T R is no match for A BX in all other areas.Be mindful that, while the BX is quite maneuverable, it is no match for a ZTR mower...

Thanks, gentlemen.
I am moving up from a 2165 Cub Cadet so I'm a little apprehensive I can get a BX around the yard.
I need the FEL and 4WD, so there's no question I'm moving to a compact, my only question is which one.
The layout of my driveway and parking area will probably necessitate a snowblower as well. Plowing is not a good option the way our lot is laid out.
The ROPS will be more of a hindrance to me. I might modify it to hinge so I can fold it down to mow.
I own a metal fab shop so it shouldn't much of a challenge.
BX sounds like what you need, however with the rops, you could buy rops for the BX25 and put it on the BX you want. The 4 digit BX's, the rops is shorter but doesnt fold, the 2 digit BX's folds halfway and its taller. If that is not want you want, I'm sure that the "rops police here" will tell you not to modify it. But if you do modify yours, It would be a great thread to post here for those who wants to do the same.![]()
Unless you're mowing the 13 square feet of grass in the back yard of a townhouse, I can't fathom the maneuverability of a BX...especially an 1860...to be much of a liability when compared to any other lawn tractor. Sure it is heavier and bigger, but the power steering and HST transmission are God-sends when working around trees and flower beds.I am moving up from a 2165 Cub Cadet so I'm a little apprehensive I can get a BX around the yard.
1*I replaced a CC GT2554 with a new BX 1500 back in 2007.Thanks, gentlemen.

With those parameters, you won't have any problems.
4*I went from a JD 425 to a BX for the same reasons as you.
I liked the BX so much I replaced my 6 year old BX with another BX last year. My son in law is now enjoying
my old BX.
5*My 2660 is very maneuverable and the 1860 may even be better.
6*So is the BX1500 and the BX1850.6*As you likely realize, the 1860 is the "short bed pickup" of the BX line.
7*Kubota managed to cut a couple of inches of the total frame length.
8*This gives the 1860 the most maneuverability of all BXs.
However, in order to fit the same mowing deck under this slightly shorter frame,
9*the 1860, with a mowing deck, requires slightly smaller wheels/tires. But again, this just adds to the smaller turning radius.
The 1860's ROPS pass easily under the garage doors. Not a problem.
10*The ROPS height on the 1860 are not tall for that concern.
