If a hydraulic implement has a minimum flow requirement of 11 gpm, my tractors main pump is rated at 9.3 gpm and the power steering pump is rated at 2.8 gpm will the implement work? My tractor manual shows a total gpm flow rate of 12.1 gpm with both pumps added together. I assume that the steering pump cannot be figured into the implements requirement, is this correct?

That's correct , what type of implement are you wanting to use?

Was considering a loader mounted snowblower

Any hyd pump has a certain HP required to run it at about 95 % efficiency, and then you have to select a hyd motor that will develop the HP to do the work required, with an 85 % transfer efficiency. So the tractor engine, hyd pump and hyd motor have to be matched to make things work right.

If you know the GPM required for the snow blower, you can back figure the requirements for the pump, as to pressure and GPM. and at what speed.

As some have stated, you might not have enough HP or hyd GPM's to get the job done.

Manufactures are always over rating their products, for sales potential.
