I have a 6' three point hitch manual angle rear blade with rear hydraulic remotes on my tractor for a backhoe. Is there a kit one could purchase, cylinder, hoses and valve to make my blade hydraulic angle? Or, possibly purchase these items seperately to make the kit myself?

Thanks Drew

Depending on the company, some blades are easily adaptable for hydraulic angle. This is more common on the mid sized and large blades. I noticed you have a BX and probably a small blade. Rare for small blade to be set up from factory with the possibility of easily mounting a hydraulic cylinder. Show us a picture of your blade and we can give you ideas. However, there is no kit available and these projects are usually hand fabricated or pay someone to do it. You will need a welder, something to cut metal, drill large holes, find the correct cylinder, buy hoses, fittings ect.

BX? Where do you see that Radman? It looks like he has a Kioti CK30 with a 6' rear blade.

Anyway, as Radman has said, for that size blade, you will need to fabricate everything. Not really that big of a deal, but no kits available as far as I know. Take a look at some bigger blades that either have the hydraulics or at least set up for them and that in it self will help you out a lot. The smallest factory built hydraulic angle blade that I can find is a Land Pride RBT35 Series Rear Blades. Most of the OEM guys pretty much build the hydraulic capable blades in the same manor. Do you have or consider A top and tilt set? The tilt function is really nice to have when using a rear blade.

Oooo, I like the hydro offset feature on that blade! I think it will make the project list.

(Unfortunatley it's something like number 5239 on that list..)

It is a very nice blade, I would love to have the RBT3584 to use with my 3215. But, I will have to wait for awhile. :(

I am aware that I will have to do some fabricating and am capable of doing it. Just wondering on a valve, hose set and cylinder.

It it were me, I would get the 2 std rear remote valves for your CK30. Get either a 3" minimum dia or 3 1/2" diameter x 14" stroke cylinder with clevis ends. Either have your dealer or local hydraulic shop make up the hoses. Or if you want to make them yourself you can get everything that you need to make your own hoses with reusable ends from Discount Hydraulic Hose. Reusable Hose Fittings > Discount Hydraulic Hose.com

Hope that some of this helps.

Yes it is helpful. It makes me realize to forget about a hose set up as I can obtain them locally. You identified the cylinder...............what about a valve?

As I had said, I would use the standard Kioti rear remote valve that you need to get from your Kioti dealer. If you do not want to go that route, then go and look at Surplus Center for one of the valves that they have to sell.

I need 3 remotes on my Mahindra 3215HST, so I have the 1 available factory remote and 2 alternative remotes.

For some reason, I thought he listed a BX. Losing my mind?

:D Well, what I have found is that the older I get, the more stuff I have floating around in the old noggin and the easier it is to get it jumbled up.

That is an elaborate valve. I wouldn't need a valve such as that if all I want to do is angle the blade side to side correct? By the way, thank you for the pictures.

I think that you will need something similar. Go with the Kioti standard valve, that really is the best thing to do and the cleanest installation.

Yes it is helpful. what about a valve?

You said in your first post that you already have a rear remote for use with a backhoe. Why don't you just use that valve? All you need to get is a hydraulic cylinder with the proper stroke length, hoses to hook up to your remote outlets, and make the brackets to hook the cylinder to your blade and away you go :D

I was just thinking about doing the same thing. I was thinking mount one end of the cylinder to a bracket welded onto the main frame of the blade, but the other end would be attached to the yoke where the blade actually pivots with a removeable pin. This way you have full swivel capabilities with the blade facing forward, then you could pull the pin and rotate the blade to face rearwards, re-pin, and full swivel function facing rearward as well.

Any thoughts on that? Seems like it should be rather simple.

Here's a factory one. Most of the OEM blades with hydraulics do this.

Yeah, that's the idea. I just need to do it with mine. Weld on 1 bracket, then figure out how long a cylinder I need and what stroke it should have. One of these days...

Most of the OEM hydraulic blades use 14" & 16" stroke cylinders. Usually 3 1/2" or 4" diameter. I think that the smaller blades use the 14 x 3 1/2 cylinder and the heavier blades use 16 x 4 cylinders.

I just finished mine. Seems to work quite well with the snow we've had recently. I had to redesign it mid-stream, the original configuration didn't pan out so good.
You need to attach both ends to something SOLID, or the blade will turn into a pretzel. Mine was bent when I got it, the previous owner found out the hard way.

I use the valve for the remote to power the angle cylinder, which is a 3 inch bore with 10 inches of stroke. You need to establish where you're going to mount the rod end, then pivot the blade through the rotation you want and measure the difference in length required at the rod mounting point. This will tell you what length cylinder you need. Take it from me, longer isn't better.

Both threads are tied together, so get a coffee and get comfortable, this is what happens when amateurs muddle their way through things :)
