Good Evenin Guys,
Im sure a bunch of my TBN friends have been wondering where the heck I have been ! I have been ! Im working my butt off, delivering and transporting petroleum products for a shoreline oil compaany in Ct...

Im certainly not going to try to glamorize oil delivery, but I would like to share some of the beautiful scenery that I get to see on a daily basis !

Today being saturday, and not very good weather at that, I thought I would share a few shots from today...

This will be an on going thread for some time, I have alot to share with you guys over the next few months !

You may as well see what the lousy weather looks like in a beautiful enviroment too...

I do bulk transport also but on the interstate, you dont see too much other than some lousy drivers !

Where the real sites are at is in local delivery ! And I will shre some of what I see over the next few months...

I am building up my barn fund through all this work !

Must create some sticky situations too - last week I saw a propane truck being assisted by a tow truck in a driveway. We had a lot of snow here and he apparently got in an invisible ditch.

Scotty, those island homes are really beautiful, but how do you cope with an icy cold and sometimes wet boat ride everytime you want to go to town? They make great summer houses, but in my opinion, lousy winter quarters. Do you think that's what the owners do? Are they mostly vacant in winter?

Hello Scotty. I was expecting to see big drilling rigs and huge equipment!! I do remember you mentioning this is past posts. You had commented on taking the job for the winter. You are the equivilant of the "Propane Man" around these parts. My Dad took on this job for a couple of years after he "retired". He always had a few stories to tell. You sure get to know the countryside running rural routes. Looking forward to more pics.

Yep for the most part you are right ! There are very few people that reside out there in the winter, like you say its pretty harsh, and the weather can dictate your travel times also !

Actually many of the shoreline mainland homes are not inhabited durring the winter either ! But some of these people have so much money that they are heated to 70 degs even when no one is there !

I have one home that I deliver to on Uncas Circle in Guilford, Ct... They have 2- 330 gallon tanks on the east side of the residence and another 2-330 tanks on the west side. The last time I was there last week I dropped close to $2000 worth of oil with one delivery ! The entire house is built from granite block, the guest house is bigger than my Ct home... They have an inground infinity pool overlooking the ocean, with an eight person hotub that waterfalls into the pool. A one hole golf course, a private island and their private dock for the yacht ! I think you get the idea !

They are only there on the weekends !

A couple of nive shots from todays 12 hr day !

Oh gosh I have to tell this little story ! Maybe a couple of weeks after I started, I had to go to an excavation site that a large contractor was putting in a new subdivision. I had to fill up a number of bulldozers and excavators and some site trucks... One of the dozers was fairly large and the fill cap on the back was much higher than my 5' 10 " frame could see into. Before I knew what had happened, the diesel fuel had kicked back ontop of me giving me a shower... OK I guess I can deal with that even though its 10 am with a long way to days end ! At about 2 pm I had to deliver some dyed kerosene to one of the local trailer parks... these people have a large dog that they let poop in a small courtyard just outside their trailer... you guessed it, the tank is in the courtyard. The problem was that all the dog poo is buried under leaves, you dont know where your stepping, by 2;15 pm I smelled like diesel fuel and dog poo !

That was not one of my better days, but I do understand the meaning of trailer trash much better these day !

Oh BTW, todays weather was in the 20's with 40 to 50 mph wind !

Scotty don't you just love that Diesel smell and to think you had to live with it for the entire day........not sure what is worse dog poop or that. I like the red barn picture, would look great up in Vermont with a double over-head and the left hand side for a work area.

This morning was the first one below zero around here, but at least the winds have died down. Yesterday it was 3 degrees but the winds were gusting to 15 to 20 mph. I cut some logs up for about an hour and had to stop just to windy and cold.
