I make it a point to never discharge the mower the direction of the road until I am well far away, nor do I discharge to my neighbors yard. It looks terrible, I never even considered the wet grass slick issue. This is actually a pet peave of mine, and I almost posted about this issue a few weeks ago, when I was driving down a road and a mower threw stuff out that hit my car as I drove by (commercial mowers mowing a medium).

I agree with you..when the countie comes by to mow the right of ways here grass clippings get on the road and when I mow the right of way in between the county coming I mow facing oncoming traffic and if someone is coming I stop until they have passed. Personally I think this is much to do about nothing...Hey, we are talking grass clippings here unless someone is cutting 3 foot tall grass and dumping that into the street and completely covering it , I just don't see a problem. As with everything you just have to be careful to watch on coming traffic and stop when a car passes, but in rural areas ...sorry I don't see a problem but then I am a just a country boy. LOL
Well written response.
Just be careful and don't get ignored for making it.

I mean, honestly, if you have just a few dry clippings, it probably will blow to the side anyways before you even get off the mower. If you have more than that, then tidy up.
Grass clippings are nothing compared to people who run water out onto the streets and roads creating a real dangerous icey hazzard when it freezes.

Dargos Little grass clipping rant is nothing compared to that.

It makes no sense, your position. First, there is no debate. It is illegal to create a dangerous situation on a roadway. Second, you've been told about such a practice causing severe injuries. Third, everyone views such practice as a sign of a lazy slob. You see no problem.

As they say, it takes all types...

The slobs have been warned !

I'm waiting to hear an excuse to some parents as to why someone being a slob and lazy just caused an accident that killed their child. Yes, I know the parents of the injured girl. They are out for blood now that the facts have been heard. If the guy doesn't go to jail, he'll lose everything he owns. If his response is like a couple on here, I'll laugh at him when he loses everything and moves into public housing.

Honestly, I'm quite shocked anyone here on TBN would be so foolish to support such a stupid, rude and dangerous act.

Read the original post. Whole road covered with grass/weed clipping. Cant even see the road stripes. Dargo did not post about a little clippings. He posted about a LOT.

No, a few little clippings is not that big a deal. A LOT is. So is the mow/blow folks that purposely blow stuff in to the street.

My area does not freeze, except once or twice a year. In a freeze area, I am sure what you describe is a real issue.

And, I stand by what I said earlier.

If you make a mess, clean it up. Especially if you make a BIG mess.

1 - it makes your property look nicer as a whole
2 - It is pride in ownership
3 - It is a courtesy to others who use the road.
4 - Do your best. Ya, I'm a Scout leader... Is your best to leave a mess on the road?

I mean, honestly, if you have just a few dry clippings, it probably will blow to the side anyways before you even get off the mower. If you have more than that, then tidy up.

\......everyone ? you want to be careful saying everyone thinks the way you do. First let me say it seems you are very brave with your posting on this forum, the question is would you be that brave face to face ? I think not.

When I cut the right of way at the front of my property the side chute on my finishing mower is on the right side of the mower, therefore in order to face oncoming traffic and be safe I must blow some grass clippings onto the county road....just like the county does. I am not going to mow on the edge of a county road with my back to the oncoming traffic. Now I am all done with you .
