Tires 2520 wheels and tires question.

This year was incredibly wet here I northeast and I noticed that my industrial tires are destroying lawn greatly, especially while turning.
Does anyone know is it is possible to buy wider than normal set of nonindustrial tires and wheels. I am looking to minimize pressure on soil and wonder if JD even makes wider wheels for 2520

The best option may be turf tires,I don't think you will find wider R4's.

Is there any chance you have been mowing in 4wd?
also, are you mowing with any extra weight, loader,
wheel weights, etc?

Like Kenny said, turf tires might be your
best option of you are already as light as you
can get the tractor.

but, if it's as bad as it sounds, you may still
find a fair amount of problems with the turf
tires. I used to have a lawn with an area
that stayed wet for a few days after it rained,
and even with turf tires on my 445 GT i had ruts
from those tires. (more of a mud track from the tires
than ruts) but i made sure i didn't turn in those areas also..

No help with the tires, but I've found that I can reduce the lawn damage significantly, even in 4WD, by slowing waaaaay down for the sensitive corner areas. I also try to reduce the radius of the turn whenever possible. I'm using R4's and a heavy rear mower with wheel weights and the loader frame on.

Did anyone noticed that tractor is making trails if you pass twice in the same area.

A had to move some dirt in my front loader (I also have BH in the back) and tractor makes trails in the yard due to the weight, especially if I travel couple of times in the same area.
As far as turf tires go, I've seen 2520 with turf's in the lot and for some reason it seems to sit higher than mine on R4's. They kinda look round like inflated balloons. That is why I was wondering if there is wider setup with turf's to minimize pressure on soil and also have a better stability.

the tractors come from the factory with the tires
over inflated, and some times they look it!

i don't know of any alternative tire sizes, it's
very important to keep the 4wd over-run speed
ratio within spec. so use caution with any tire
size changes.

i think a lot of this may just be a weather
related issue, been a very wet year, and
the ground is saturated in many places

My tractor was leaving "dents" or depressions in the lawn while mowing. When it was the wetest I would pull a lawn roller behind me every time I mowed. I was glad when it finally dried out!

Hmm... roller sounds like an idea, I may give it a try.
