Well, I took the plunge and bought a new 4120 eHydro today! :D What a machine! Big step up from my recently sold 790. Was going to get a 3520, but it wasn't quite enough machine for what we needed to do. My new baby is having the tires loaded and a third SCV installed right now.

Anyway - I bought the fwd and (2) rear lighting kits. After long discussion with the dealer, I decided that I would install them myself - I want individual switches for each set. I've looked through the forums and have gotten much help. I will use a relay system and two switches in the right fender fender console. The part number I've gotten here is MIA10204. I understand this will work on the 3000 twenty machines, but will it fit the switch slot on my 4120?

Also - I got a Frontier SB11 74" blower with the tractor. I need to install an amber strobe light somewhere on the machine for use when blowing snow (state law). Has anybody done this or have any ideas on how to make a nice, clean install?

Great forum - appreciate the help

I think the switch's are the same...As for the strobe-I know JD offers a kit but I am not sure how it attaches to the cab roof.

I know nothing of snowblowers and amber lights, but...

Congratulations! Have fun with it.

As for the strobe-I know JD offers a kit but I am not sure how it attaches to the cab roof.

If I had a cab, it would be easy - but my tractor is an open station. Further - I need to leave the ROPS folded down in order to fit it in my barn. Too much of a pain to put up and down every time out. I will only fold it up when the work isn't flat and level. Anyway - I need a way to attach the strobe to the side of the ROPS. I have front and rear aux lights above and below the flashers. I may fabricate a bracket that will bolt to the left flasher light brush guard and extend up past the forward light. This would position the strobe above the forward light. I think that would look OK and be functional.

Welcome to TBN and have fun with the new tractor.

Hope you have a canopy top to mount the strobe to, that would be less irritating for the operator.

Edit; read your post above, that strobe needs to be high enough to be out of your sight line or you will find it a hindrence to your vision.

Sorry, I missed the part about the OS tractor...

I mounted a strobe and 4 lights on top my ROPS...I think putting the strobe that low like you are talking is going to drive you crazy being right at eye level.

HERE is a link to my light threads with some pictures.

I'd wonder about mounting the strobe on a pole attached to a bracket on the lower part of the ROPS and sticking up as high as possible - or maybe even with a sliding or tilting arrangement - so you could fold the ROPS but still put the light up higher than your head.

I think you are not going to like leaving the ROPS down much. I have found that the toplink of my 3pt will hit it in the up position which is annoying and possibly damaging. It is not really that much of a hassle. Takes just a minute, and it's much safer. You're gonna like that 4120, it is ALOT of tractor in a small package.....
