stuck press on gear

I have a stuck large gear, I have not had any luck pulling..its pressed on, about 14 inch in diamater..I have a large 2 jaw gear puller, and have not had any luck..any ideas???

Is it on something you can get on a press?

it may have to be heated and pressed off.

Gears are expensive, purchasing a large one will give your pocket book ulcers. Some gears are pressed on and will have to be pressed off. Check the yellow pages for a machine shop and give them a call. Much cheaper than buying a new gear and shaft. Too much force with a gear puller and the end of the shaft the gear is mounted on will expand.
