I bought a 335 over a 235 because of the 8TL loader and its lift capacity. I own a landscape company and we routinely load pallets of mulch on trailers. I loaded several pallets on a flatbed lowboy 20' er at one location with our John Deere 34 hp. Its a smaller tractor with a smaller loader and have been loading mulch with it so I assumed the new 8TL loader would load em no problem. WRONG I went to unload em and the dang thing would barely budge em and it almost tipped over, so I took off the box scraper that was on the back of it and put a HEAVY duty set of 7' Howse discs on the back. NO DICE! It would barely, and I mean barely, lift it up a couple of inches but wanted to turn over. I am sure if I slid them back off of the trailer it would tip forward. It is Cypress bark mulch that supposedly weight about 1000 lbs but was a little wet (it is still in the shrink wrap). What bothers me is the little John Deere loaded it no problem and this "big bad loader" sh*t on itself when I tried. Really really really disappointed. Now I have to spend extra money to have my guys unload it by hand.

I am glad I have never had a problem like that with my CT230. My CT230 has surprised me in everything that I expected of it. Do the tractors have buckets attached?

The ct 235 and the ct 335 only have a difference of approx 50 pounds loader capacity. (according to the book) Lift capacity doesnt drastically increase till the 440 which is 2050/2600 pounds from 1300/1650. I might be missing something. Maybe you can trade up?

Might be worthwhile to have someone check the relief valve pressure, it may be set too low and thus cutting into your lift capacity.

What type of pallet forks are you using?
Are they skid steer forks that weigh 500lbs already?

Do you have your tires loaded?
Seems even if the loader could pick up the pallet you don't have enough ballest to hold the rear of the tractor down anyhow.

The tires are not loaded but the weight on the back was pretty heavy even though it still picked it up. They are skid steer pallet forks. Do they weigh that much?!?!

Tell me more ... you have me thinking

Bring it by I will make it lift! Can't tell ya you won't break the front axel out from underneath it but I can make it lift till it breaks!:D

Mr.Wallace please tell us how you are gonna increase his lift? Just curious.

So horticattleman did you get it fixed?

Probably by:
  1. Loading Rear tires
  2. Adding Wheel Weights
  3. Increasing the hyd relief valve pressure to the max recommended pressure

All you need to do is adjust the relief valve setting ie increase the system pressure. But I am sure that is bad idea since the loader cylinders will put out more force then the rest of the tractor can handle.

It is not necessarily a bad idea, it depends on what the relief valve is currently set to and what the system rated pressure is. If the system is rated for 3000PSI and it is currently running at 2200PSI you can safely bump it up by 800PSI.

Anyone ever do a Bobcat PSI bump up? I assume its a shim deal in the relief valve.

The system rating is for the pressure that the pump, valve, fittings, cylinders and lines can handle. The tractor axles, bearings and frame members are not designed around the force generated at the higher pressure. I'm sure it'll work for a while but you will shorten the life of the tractor.

I saw a great video of these guys that modified a kids power wheels jeep from 12v to 18 volt. It worked great and was really fast...until the little plastic gears gave out. Same concept...smaller scale.

Kubota (for example) has in the service manual a "recommended maximum relief valve pressure", however they often come with the pressure set lower than that from the factory, as long as you do not go over their recommended pressure, there shouldn't be any issues. There is a thread here where someone had a L2350 that came with the relief valve set to 1300 psi rather than the rated pressure of 2500 psi.

Note: I do not recommend setting the relief valve pressure unless you know what you are doing and you know what the system pressure rating is. otherwise things could get expensive in a hurry.

A better analogy might be a 12 volt powerwheels car that came with a 12 volt battery which was stepped down to 8 or 10 volts. It will still work but it wont do what it was designed to do.

I agree if the relief valve was set low at the factory or buy the dealer. You need to put gauge inline to see what your're really getting.

Of course, I would not recommend doing it any other way, way too dangerous.

Dealer secrets.

First thing first make sure the releif pressure is set to spec.

Line pressure check is deff the first thing to get a baseline on for sure.

Secrets haha thats funny, nothing is a secret anymore with the internet!!!
