I cant imagine what the fine could have been for that.

Same here. What exactly would the fine be for?

I think they call it overloaded, and he would get a fine for that....You can't tell that ?..

When i use to drive a tractor trailer, i would love it when i seen these "hotshot truckers" (as they like to be called) pulled over by the DOT's

I would always give my horn a couple quick blows & keep on trucking:D

Yea i know..... No pickup truck is rating for that much weight:rolleyes:

I don't know where you live, but I live in God's Country also... and that rig wouldn't be legal around here.. They would haul him away & his truck.

Well, I live in BC, and he had to come through my province to get to AK. There's a reason why they say BC stands for "bring cash". Hard to believe he'd travel over 2000 kilometers without being pulled over. if he was they would bring out the portable scales and check his axle weights against the ratings. If the axle weights are OK and everything else checks out, off he goes. They don't recognize GCVWR here. But there is a 13 per cent grade a mile from my house and lots more of them between here and the Alaska border, so it would be a pretty hairy ride.

Leaving a state appointed mental hospital without permission from your parole officer.
:D:D:D:D Stuff like that amazes me. The MTO (DOT in U.S.) keeps a magnifying glass on our commercial vehicles, yet you see personal use vehicles getting away with stupid stuff like that all the time. Just like all the ones you see around here, overloaded, on their way to the dump, spilling garbage all over the road. The police and MTO just drive by them. If I were spilling stuff out the back of my dump truck they'd have me pulled over so fast, writing up fines and cvor points.

Hey Builder, just think of all the money you could save on fuel, registration, etc. when you replace your International with a Hyundai Accent to float your equipment around :D

Sort of reminded me of a truck and trailer I passed on the way home Friday. Ford 350 dually with a better than 10 ton trailer and a Komatsu FEL with enclosed cab and backhoe. The load was all the way to the front and the truck was bottomed out on the springs. Might have taken the truck a minute to make it thru a 1/8 mile from a dead stop. If the DOT cop who works our area had been around, I could just imagine the fines he'd be writing up.

to be DOT legal in my state he may register his 3500 SRW or DRW up to 15000 max GVWR which then he would have to have a 28000 GVWR trailer. He then would purchases his 43000 GCW combined plates.

The big problem will be the truck is limited to its RAWR/FAWR/tire caps. No doubt he has lost front axle weight so its probably not over FAW. How much he is actually has on the trucks rear axles isn't known. The Dodge 3500 DRW has a 9350 RAWR and 6400 RAWR for the 3500 SRW. It wouldn't be a safe load anyway its looked at, DRW or SRW

If his rear axle GW was under 9350 and the trailers axles GW were under their rated 28k capacity and under his 43k gross combined, he's legal.

Its certainly not a safe tow by any means as purchasing insurance for a 3500 DRW truck plated to 43k would kill it as a profit maker.

My guess he's a classic example of a illegal hauler commercial or non commercial.
