Tires R4 Tire Pressures

I am going to help the neighbor move some irrigular sized landscape rocks to rebuild his retaining wall.

I am running my R4's near max psi now. If I reduce the PSI to the lower limit will I be less likley to leave track marks on his grass with my 3520 w/CAB?

Your fronts might take a good amount of air for moving rocks! I like to see the tires running a full bar on the treads. Most times that will bring the rears to 14 plus or minus.

You might find it also best to drive it on a hard surface for a bit to check your air pressures between the front and rear as it will alos make a difference in the lead lag ratio so you might have to gain or losse a little on the front or back to equalize it. You can tell when your good as it will go in and out of four wheel drive easy.

To move rock, you will want your fronts at max PSI. The rears should be around 12 so you get good traction and to reduce the bounciness from side to side that happens when over-inflated.

The best thing you can do to reduce the tracts is to limit turning and not to spin the tires. Put alot of ballast on the rear to distribute more weight to the wider rear tires.

I have the same set-up as you do. What did you figure out with the tire pressures? Are you rear tires "loaded"?
