The VP44 injector pump and lift pump are going out on my truck (2002 dodge/cummins with 55k) but I found out I have a 7yr/100k warranty, NOT the 5yr/100k warranty shown in my owners manual... So the IP is covered and the dealer is still checking on the LP..

I wanted the FASS DDRP, BUT the dealer told me if I installed it (instead of the DC lift pump) the VP44 warranty (per the dealer 12 mths/100k) would be voided..

Figuring the LP was not under warranty, I called the dealer to see if I bought it would they install the FASS and bill me for the labor instead of going in-tank option.. I wanted to be able to easily change the LP if needed down the road. The dealer also said the in-tank should only take 1.4 hrs - so it must not be that much trouble to change out.

Now that I am getting the in-tank LP, after my 12 mths is up I will probably go with the frame mounted FASS though..

A fuel pressure gauges are my next project.. I just got the truck back yesterday and I am going to be ordering everything pretty soon...

I sorta/kinda got a little upset with them yesterday.. Earlier in the week I called to see if they would install a FASS DDRP instead of doing the in-tank lift pump, but was told that that would void the 12 mth 100k mile warranty on the Injector Pump... Fast forward to yesterday and now the warranty is only on the lift pump not the injector pump..

So I just spent $510 for a lift pump that I didnt want in the first place, and then find out that the warranty doesnt cover what I was told it would cover... If I had known that I would have tried harder to get them to install a FASS instead.. Long run I think Ill be happier..
