Tractor
Kubota B7610, Wheel Horse 520H w/44" blower & cab, WH 314-8 w/ 42" mower & snow plow, Sears Suburban SS16 w/ 3 pt, potato plow, rear blade, moldbord plow, discs.
I'm thinking about a backhoe for my B7610. What are the pros/cons of a factory frame mounted vs. aftermarket 3 pt backhoe?

Con - Kubota will void your warranty on any physical damage anywhere on the machine if a 3pt hoe is used. (Most all are the same, not just K)

Con - weaker mount and wobbly performance from the 3pt vs frame 4 pt mount

Pro - cheaper by a few hundred.

I have the B7510 and bought my 3 pt backhoe from Kubota so I would have the warranty with the tractor and so far after 3 years not a glitch!!

con: parts of your body between tractor and hoe = possible large dr.bills
pros: none except a few $ cheeper

Do a search on here and you will get alot of comments and information. There are alot of threads on this subject. Most will tell you to get a subframe.

Some people have had the tractor break in half with the three pointers.

I have the same tractor with a Woods 70X subframe BH. I can't speak for the 3 PT type, but I really like how solid the unit feels. I supose if you change a lot 3 PT implements, it would be a plus. Personally, when I put the hoe back on after winter, it generally doesn't come off until next winter for the blower.

Yes, both the Kubota 4672 and the 4690 hoes are 3-pt hoes sold and
warranteed by the company. Even Kubota admits they are not consistent
with company policy re OTHER companies' 3-pt hoes. Go figure.

Wow, glad I asked. I was not aware of the potential damage or warranty issues. I would not want to explain to the dealer (or my wife!) how my tractor split in half! So

So my next question is, how difficult is it to install & remove the Kubota frame mount hoe from this tractor?

I am also looking at a B7610 and need a backhoe - there's a local 3pt WOODS model 750 for sale.
Is it too big for a 7610? Any idea how much a subframe would cost? How difficult would it be to put the BH on and take off?

thanks!!

I just bought a 3pt backhoe and here's what the dealer I bought it from said; He would not put a 3pt backhoe on a B series. (He sold both 3pt and subframe hoes, btw.) He said he never heard of a problem with one on an L series (mine) and that was what he was currently using on his tractor. Nevermind the warranty because my tractor was out of warranty anyway. Easy on/off and no subframe to decrease ground clearance. The "few hundred dollars" difference was $7,900 compared to $8,700 for a Woods compared to a Kubota BH.

On a personal note; I have no idea how this thing could fold up on me like mentioned above... I would like to hear more on that.
It's not loose or jerky if your actions are smooth, but I can see where a subframe unit would have an advantage here.
And I love this thing. I should have boughten one years ago. I trenched about 200' yesterday for some drain lines, moving huge chunks of concrete out of my way with ease. It took me four hours in a couple sittings, which I thought was pretty good considering I just got it. Nice smooth trench, but the ground had a natural fall to it.

Well I called a local dealer and they quoted me about 8K for a Woods 7' with 4 point attachment (like the Kubota BH's), a thumb and 2 yr warranty for a B7610.
Now the question I've got is can I use it on a bigger tractor when I'm ready to move up?
The backhoe is going to be worth more than the tractor.

I also just found a BH70X advertised - anyone know how difficult it is to get the parts for a 4 point attachment?

A subframe mount is readily available from a Woods dealer. I bought my subframe kit locally, and installed it myself along with the hydraulic loop to power the hoe.

I'm going to recommend you stick to the 70X, or at least the 7500 if you are looking at used hoes. The 750 uses a completely different mounting pattern, and you will most likely not find any subframe mount for the 750 on a current tractor.

I've heard alot of talk about there being problems with the 3 point mount, but have yet to see anything more than talk. I had a 3 point version on my b7800 wuthout any issues. That being said If I bought another one I would probably get a subframe version.
