Loader valve double acting segment, what for?

I discovered recently, while reading my manual(imagine that), that the loader valve is double acting 2 segment valve. In the bucket dump position(moving the lever to the right) dumps the bucket, if you push the lever further right you hit a detent and the bucket dumps real slow at a fixed pace. What is this feature useful for? Something about using it for "taking off hydraulic power from port D." I guess I don't understand this feature or its usefullness

Short answer: The regeneration position allows a quick dump of the bucket by redirecting the displaced fluid from the rod end of the cylinder to the other end to supplement the volume of fluid coming from the pump. This is quick but has little power. The further position of the valve directs the fluid from the rod end back to the tank and fills the piston end entirely from the pump. Slower but more powerful. Use the further position if you need to uncurl the bucket to lift the front of the tractor for instance.

I did a search. I came across a thread where a feller thought he could use this feature to run a grapple with the addition of a switch. The post died shortly thereafter. Is there any way that it could in fact be used that way? Here is the LINK

I don't see where the regen has anything to do with running a grapple with an electric diverter. I use Kubota's diverter to run the chute control on my blower...... no reason the same diverter couldn't run a grapple.

That "switch" is just a electric diverter, and the regen had nothing to do with it-that poster just did not understand what regen was. Again, search the term "diverter".


Please don't mis-understand my telling you to search...I just do not want to spend a hour pecking out whats been written about before. I will always gladly suggest the terms to search for to get the answers you want.
