I thought to move more tractors.... he was going to lower his prices.. :)
That way I could afford to trade my CK30 for a DK40. :D

We don't have to lower prices for that to happen!:D

With the rears you have you should be able to pull a 40 foot trailer. Are you running 4.56 or the 4.88 rears? For local runs your going to have a hard time obeying the speed limit.

The only rears that are available in the p/u version are the 4.30

4.30's that better for a little less time at the fuel pumps. It's amazing how much power the diesels have today in pickups and with almost zero emmisions. I read that in 2010 diesel pickups are going to have a urea tank for even less emmisions.

Does the F450 have the fuel reburner in the exhaust? Or is that only for one ton models and smaller? I saw in the same article that they are going to replace the 6.4 in 2010 due to emmisions. It's the same reason they replaced what was probably the best overbuild diesel engine ever made, the cummins 5.9. It wouldn't meet the 2008 emmisions. I actually looked into buying a leftover 5.9 when I bought the duramax less emmision issues and no worry about if it's ULSD or LSD when fueling up.

Today I saw Ricks ad on a new mahindra 7520. If you saw the price you'd be buying that over the DK40. Not much more money.

Rick you have my address, just mail me my part of the commision on the sale.

the 6.7 cummins has already passed 2010 emissions with DPF re-burn as you call it, Mine works fine, Only problem that crops up is when the re-burn starts, you must drive the truck 50 mph or more until the re-burn light goes out, For me this means get on I84 and take a trip westbound to within site of Hartford CT and turn around, I have no idea what would happen if I just parked the truck or drove locally as I usually do, TO not have a problem, I just drive it as told and I can't find a complaint other than this, "forced" drive now and then..

Be careful. He means it. Been there, done that. He'll even take the CK off your hands. :)

I am a happy camper with my DK40se. Don't forget to get the rears loaded especially if you get R4s. I've left some pretty big ruts for lack of traction. Also, the loader is powerful enough to easily lift the rear off the ground while digging roots even with a mower or boxblade for ballast.

Yes it has the "reburn" or regen (for now) depending on what you want to call it.
I have to drive about 30 miles for it to go out.The replacment of the 6.4 is not emmission related, it is a Ford Navastar relationship split.
The "new diesel" will be made by Ford in New Mexico and it will be called the Scorpion.

First time mine did a regen,(I wasn't sure how many others were aware of it's name) it was raining and sure smelled terrible. You can always tell when the regien hits, even at highway miles the digital display starts showing the MPG going down. I don't know about the ford but when I was look a leftover dodge, there were people who had clogged their dpf on their new 6.7 cummins probably by running lsd.

If the stealership hadn't been so difficult to deal with I would be driving a dodge maxicab right now instead of the chevy. The truck that I took out for a test drive was already sold and they never said a word until I mentioned price and my trade-in and all they said was that their guy who does the trade in values wasn't there and to come tomorrow. When I got there the truck I drove was gone and well you know the rest.

I'm waiting to see what the GM problem turnes out to be with regin. Ford was causing fires, dodge was clogging, so with my luck the chevy will blow up the motor and of course it will have just gone out of warranty.

If mine clogs I'll probably put on the pre 08 exhaust. It fits and run a programmer that deletes it.

Rick,
How are you able to sell that big mahindra unit at such a low price?

Ford is to scared to show the mpg so the just display I think it says cleaning exhaust drive truck.

Rick,

That model has a $1,000 customer price reduction from Mahindra and a $1,000 cash in lieu of financing.
So the price you see is a cash price.
Quit the honkin machine for the money
:p

How about letting me have it for a short demo, say 36-48 months. That way I'll definetly know if I want it or not.

I can tell you what will happen (we have a couple at work that we don't drive enough) they just Die randomly and give you all sorts of greif.

That is one of those things you need to do exactly like / when it says or it will give you fits.

Of course we learned AFTER we started having problems :D

Still not sure what our solution is going to be.
