Which one for us?

I dropped by the Deere/Polaris dealer today. I talked to one of the owners and asked him whether he liked the Gators or Rangers better. He said he would take the ranger anyday. I'm kinda partial to the polaris's, so this kinda strengthens it. But I am open to almost all brands. Call me a dreamer, but it seems every night, I end up with all the brands and models somehow appearing in a new barn that seemed to cost me nothing. Can't wait till I go to sleep!

have you looked at the bobcat 2300, the front arm will allow you to get more work out of it. has a kubota diesel

Actually, I was looking at one on eBay. I posted about it, $10,000 with bucket and forks. Only problem is we have never done business with the dealer before. As with Kubota, Deere, and Polaris, we have tremendous experience and personal relations.

Just got back from the tractor pull. A friend who pulls has an RTV and was towing his tractor and one other. He was going pretty fast towing even up onto the scale. I think this is about narrowed down to Kubota, but as you said, Bobcat has the 2ft high, 500lb capacity loader. These are defininately tops. Although Polaris runs a close second!

On this website check our videos. I was amazed at the Land Pride Video. The suspension on the Land Pride is amazing.

I dis watch the video. It looks good, but don't know if I could stray away from brands and long time relationships to get to get a land pride, and have to go further away. Thanks anyway, but I'd like to stick to the main brands.

IMHO if your going to use it as a "work" implement the rtv 900 has my vote. Finished another "x" number cords of oak hauled up 300' 30% elevation. Slow but sure with over full loads, 2 overweight folks, 3 chainsaws, 110 pound dog (not overweight), 6000# warn winch, another 2-300 pounds of add ons, tools, fuel, oil, shotguns u-name-it aboard and a splitter in tow. No real problems in 4 years.

Here is a picture of my RTV900 with about 2000 pounds in it. It hauled that same size load and dumped it hundreds of times. The RTV seems to be the main choice for us. We would probably get tires similar to Dargo's plus a 2" lift. I would like to see the RTV 1140 though.

One thing about the RTV was $$$$. We price one online, it turned out to be 17 plus, with blade, canopy, windsheild, and brush guard. I think those were the only options, I'll reprice and post what I got.

i would go with a rtv1100 thats gonna be one of the next utvs i get i plan on getting two more within a year and they are gonna be a rtv1100 and the other is gonna be a tyrex or a ranger hd. but one is gonna be a rtv 1100 for sure i need a workier to replace my hpx and the a/c and heating is nice. and with the loads that i haul the rtv is a no brainer

Attached are some old and new ones. New ones have lights and winch attached. It was fully overloaded just before i dumped it. Always forget to take a "loaded" pic going up the hill or fording the creek.

For those of you who own or have priced an RTV. I was wondering if this was a good deal.

Condition- '07 with 62 hours, shed kept

Options- Worksite package, which includes cnopy, brush guard, windsheild, HD worksite tires. Plus, it has front receiver.

Doesn't sound too bad to me. It is in SC. Fairly far away, but we may have to deliver our chipper to NC soon. So if we put the chipper on the trailer, then after we drop it off, we have a trailer to haul it on. The trailer doesn't take much mileage off our truck, so towing isn't much of a problem.

it might have been me posting it .lol ihave been kicking the tyrex and ranger idea aroung=d for a while . but i am leaning to the ranger right now unless something happens . but the other utv is for sure gonna be an rtv 1100 .

about 10K is right for what you described. I think you get more for $ with rtv as it will endure and carry more than similar vehicles. Seems like some othe brands my neighbors have are always breaking something. Mine carries the 6k warn like it wasn't there - std suspension too. It will however either drag you off a cliff or up a tree if youre not carefull. Added hooks to rear bumper so i can tie off to a tree while winching heavy stuff.

After looking at the Mule 4010 Diesels a lttle closer, I don't think they're alot better than the 3010. Has anyone driven/had one of the 4010, preferably diesel. We cannot test drive at our Kawi/Yamaha/Suzuki dealer (Atlantic Cycle and Power)

Take a minute, clear your head, and then read all posts again. I am like you, in that, I like to research things to death. It is well worth the time. I too, like and highly value the opinions of folks who have used the things that I am interested in buying. I ended up with the RTV900 and it is the best machine for us. We mostly work ours though. HARD!! For hard work, get one of the RTV models (maybe not the RTV500 ), The price you were given for the used one was high, which seems to be the case, on any used atv/UTV. If you need 4 to 6 people carried, with not so heavy duty work, but still capable of consistently hauling big loads of wood, mulch and such, get the polaris/deere ( I'm not sure if deere offers a crew yet or not ). If you want play, woods riding toy, than go with the rhino, razor, prowler, etc. As for the cub cadet/club car made rig, you have tractors with way heavier duty loaders than this has ( if I remember your info correctly ) , to do any loading tasks. It is just a sales gimmick. Everything you read, will tell you roughly the same things that we have. You have to decide exactly what the primary uses will be, and make the best comprimize, as none will serve every need perfectly. Take your time, as with the economy slowing down, you should be able to get a good deal on whichever one that you decide.
