I'd like to put turf tires on my Iseki TA-290.
Rear size is 12.4-26, front is 8-16.
I have not found tires this size except AG.
Are any other wheel sizes available ?
Will MF or any other wheels fit?
Thanks for the help.

Ags and Turfs come in different sizes and use different rims. If you machine is 4WD make sure to maintain ratios.

I'd just keep with the AGs.
It ain't a tractor without them.

Sorry, I don't have an answer.
Thank God, someone out there knows the proper terminology.

Thanks I didn't even consider the ratio's.
Someone has suggested light truck tires for the front but I seem to be striking out with the rear.

Have you tried Firestoneag.com or miller tire, you might find something there. Either way maintain the rear overall height. Ask a dealer what was offered for a turf tire and go from there.

I did some searching, and a John Deere 6405 uses 12.4-26 tires on the front. This may or may not help you.

You're right, though... That size is a little hard to find.

Unfortunatly your SOL on the 26's for turfs, the first size offered in the R-3 Turf Design is 16.9/18.4 for the 26" wheel diameter. On the fronts u can convert to a 9.5-16 Turf and be within 7 % of the drive allowance in Overall Diameter. If interested reply and we can find u a 26" convert replacement set.

Yes I'd like to do this.

One of my prmary functions of this tractor is mowing.

The AG tires are too aggressive.

Unfortunately, you will probably have to find new rims to match your tractor. ag and turf rims just don't match up. I have turf tires on my small tractor and wish I had them on my tc40. My turf tires have always done everything I've asked them to do including pulling a 5' disc and they don't tear up the ground in the yard.

If you are tearing up your yard with any tractor tire you are mowing when its too wet. I have mowed with ags for years with no problems unless I get lazy and mow when I should not be.

You might see if you can find R4s in those sizes. They won't tear up the lawn like ags.

*This will tear things up more than tire tread type.
**Exactly just takes a little common sense.

The worst yard damage I've done was with the front turfs on one of my BXs.

I agree with LB. If you have traction the tire will not slip. Therefore no damage to the lawn. If you turn sharp and depending on speed, yeah I you can rip the lawn with turfs or any bar type tire. It depends on what you want and conditions. I have a paved driveway and sand under the lawn, so I can get away with turfs. I have through plowed a 150 driveway with turfs in deep snow.

Personally though some slip is good for the drivetrain IMHO!;)

Turf's are best for mowing; maybe that's why they are called turf tires??

If you still have any doubt; go to any golf course and see what they use.

I own a big fairway mower; so I can save you a trip.

Yes, turfs are best for mowing. Here is the thing, its a tractor! Turfs are pretty much worthless on a tractor. Its like putting slicks on my F-350 4x4. Maybe its just me but I would not put turfs on any real tractor. They are great for things like the fairway mower or ZTR's
