ZD331 Transmission Filter(s)

I am starting the 50 hour service on a ZD331. The owner's manual indicates that the transmission oil filter gets replaced at 50 hours and refers to page 62 for details. Page 62 shows TWO filters - both called transmission oil filters - making me wonder if I'm supposed to change one or both. To further complicate thngs, the parts manual references both a hydraulic oil filter (3A431-82630) and a HST filter (K7561-14070). It would be helpful if Kubota's owner's manual and parts manual used the same part names...

Which filter is considered the hydraulic oil filter and which is considered the HST filter, and which one gets replaced at 50 hours?

change them both. The Hydraulic filter cleans the entire system, the HST filter protects the HST pump.

To specific answer your question using Neil's slide show both the black and yellow filters must be changed and case drain all the SUDT ( Oil) out at 50 hours of operation, also engine oil and filter must be changed too.

The "yellow" painted filter is the Hydrostat filter (HST) and should be changed every 200 hours of operation thereafter. Do not drain the SUDT out of the case drain simply replace the filter and top off until the 400 hour service and then both yellow and black filters must be changed along with both case drains at the LH and RH REAR AXLEs and the transmission housing again too. Look at your maintenance service intervals chart if you loose this post down the road. Nice machine, I own two in my Fleet.
