MX5000 Kubota
2006 Kubota MX 5000
Model Year: 2006

I bought this tractor new from a local dealer. I haven't had any problems at all, it's used to maintain about 20 acres of farmland. I also purchased a disc & bush hog with it, this tractor handles all implements very well ( also have gill & box blade). I have no complaints. After shopping other brands this was the best deal for the money.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: None.

MX5000 Kubota
Homeowner
Model Year: 2009

I bought this Kubota Tractor strictly for loading materials. I have used it a lot for that purpose. For brushhogging, I use a MF135 which is great for brushhogging and other yard work.

Pros: Love the 4-wheel drive, great pulling power.
Cons: I wished the front-end loader bucket was detachable so I could put another piece of equipment on it.

MX5000 Kubota
Kubota MX5000

Bought this tractor to help maintain 17 ac. Run a few head of cattle and have approx. 9 ac of woodlands. Tractor is always reliable with plenty of hp (50) for what I need. Have red clay soil and wish I had gotten 4 wheel drive model.

Pros: Quality & reliability.
Cons: Traction without wheel weights.

MX5000 Kubota
Kubota MX5000 2WD
Model Year: 2003

Good tractor, very reliable, plenty of power for utility work as well as light farm work. We use it to brush hog, plow snow, split firewood, cut, rake, and bale hay, plow smaller feilds, disc, cultipack, and cultivate. Only a 2 wheel drive but goes through mud pretty good.

Pros: Reliable, powerful, good value.
Cons: Steering has quite a bit of play during road travel but not noticeable doing field work, when steering tightened has a tendency to snap tie rods.

MX5000 Kubota
My Little Orange Workhorse
Model Year: 2005

I use this tractor lightly (as you can see by the hours) around a small farm, and mostly to assist in fetching / moving logs for my sawmill. I purchased this tractor in early 2011, and at the time it had 142 hrs on the meter. The owner had purchased it with a front-end-loader w/6' bucket, box blade, post hole digger, 6' bushhogg, root rake attachment for the FEL w/hydraulic grapple jaw and an 18' trailer. I am very pleased with the performance of this machine! A lot of power in a little package.

Pros: Powerful, efficient.
Cons: N/A.

MX5000 Kubota
Used Kubota MX5000
Model Year: 2007

Just new to this Japanese machine. Had a 1967 MF135D with FEL for the past 25+ years and for the most part really liked it. But I wanted a 4wd tractor and loader hydraulics that were independent of the 3 pt hitch. So I bought the used Kubota (traded in the old Massey) In terms of power and weight they are roughly comparable. (I trailer the tractor several times a year so wanted to keep weight under 6K). So far no significant issues with the Kubota but I do miss some features of the old girl - things such as the 2 stage clutch and multi-power. A two stage clutch is particularly useful when operating a snow blower. Another comparison/gripe - the Massey achieved 540 rpm PTO speed at 1700 engine rpm with engine rpm to spare. The Kubota has to be full throttle to achieve the 2700 engine rpm necessary for 540 PTO rpm. As such I doubt that the 540 PTO speed is matched with the peak torque of the Kubota engine (have yet to confirm this), but I do know that the Kubota is much louder than the 40 year old Massey when running at 540 PTO speed. Too soon to make a fuel consumption judgment but I suspect that at full throttle the Kubota will be more thirsty. I do like the wider loader bucket (6') on the Kubota. In summary, I have owned this tractor for less than a month and have only put a few hours on it - the work being mostly snow blowing, snow pushing or back-blading. So far no issues, but then we have had a very low snow winter thus far!

Pros: Moderate light weight, 4wd.
Cons: Dealership.

MX5000 Kubota
My Work Horse
Model Year: 2002

Have been very pleased with my MX-5000. If I had it to do over, I would get the same tractor but with 4X4 and a front end loader. Little trouble, easy to maintain, easy to drive, and does everything I ask of it.

Pros: Straight-forward design; no useless bells or whistles.
Cons: Throttle cable broke, but no big deal. Easy to fix myself.

MX5000 Kubota
MX5000 Kubota
Model Year: 2004

My 04 MX5000 is a great machine. I haul everything from trailers to hay with my MX5000. For a compact tractor it has plenty of power and most of the basic functions that any small farm or contractor may need. Pound for pound Kubota did a good job of producing this model. I really like the contractor tires on it. Buddy and I have a commercial mowing business. He runs a kubota 45hp tractor just like I he loves his machine. I have only had one flat in 7 years. I mow commercial lot's, empty lots in subdivisions, pasture, rake, square bale, clean ponds, and redo drive ways. There has been times my machine runs for over 12hrs straight and does well on fuel. For someone wanting to purchase a universal machine they can't go wrong. There are downs sides and ups to each machine though.

Pros: Great size, adequate pump, adequate lifting power, great fuel economy, low maintenance, durable, great for working in tight places and chicken houses just drop the ROPS bar, very stable on uneven ground.
Cons: Way to light, could use wheel weights or weights on front end. Package deal should come with better trailer and heavier brush hog and box blade, no standard rear remotes , poor cooling system have to blow out the radiator most ever mowing.

This is a very strong tractor for its size. High ground clearance and AG tires make this a go anywhere tractor. No service issues, routine maintenance is a breeze. Very good value for the price.

Pros: Durability and strength.

MX5000 Kubota
I Love It
Model Year: 2006

I was looking for a tractor that would last forty years with occasional use but one I could beat the heck out of and it would take it. I purchased the old-fashioned transmission. I knew it was solid and would be able to take abuse longer. Finally I wanted one that was powerful enough that should I want to hay with it I would be able to, though it's on the edge. But I have been very happy with the performance. It's a solid tractor. It's a strong tractor. Mostly I use the loader. I can fill it with gravel and it has no difficulty. There have been no issues. It is very dependable. I've moved snow banks the size of a truck, I've box-bladed the driveway and road, I've moved many tons of gravel, I've pulled up many fence posts, etc

Pros: Solid, strong and reliable. No maintenance issues
Cons: No bells and whistles but that's what I wanted

MX5000 Kubota
Kubota MX5000
Model Year: 2008

I purchased a new quality Japanese tractor for use on my 40acre property using the formula of 10HP for every 10 acres, add ten and 4x4 for hills (I have steep hills). Kubota have an excellent reputation in Australia where i live and as I work 9-5 with a day job I thought it best to get something that i could spend my time 'using' as opposed to 'fixing'. I purchased an MX5000 new from the distributor of Kubota in my state for 30,000AUD approaching three years ago. It was not as I expected 'all plain sailing'. After 18 months the machine was in the workshop for 8 weeks with a failed bearing in the engine. Unfortunately for me, by the time I convinced the dealer there was a problem and had the machine in the workshop It was out of warranty. It's only the larger machines that have anything more than a 12 month warranty. Fortunately my dealer's service manager came to the rescue and honored the warranty to some degree with little out of pocket expenses on my side. I have in general been happy with the machine, albeit for a general 'rough ride' a known issue with the MX5000. The machine is excellent on fuel, can go anywhere and appears to be the 'tough little machine' it propounds to be. I mostly use if for slashing and clearing, moving heavy objects around the farm and the occasional augering. The things I feel you should consider before purchasing this model tractor are: *They are quite a light machine. You won't get the 'traction' you might need in some situations. Filling the tires with water makes a difference. Use chains on your 3 point linkage whenever you can and wheels on your implements. Being a light machine means a 5' heavy duty slasher can upset the machine in a tricky situation. *They are not equipped with sophisticated engine and hydraulics warning systems some other machines have so check your fluids regularly. Make sure you pre delivery inspection is done correctly. I suspect mine was not. Always purchase from a reputable source. They will look after you if by some unlikely event you have trouble with these machines. I should add that there were no other reported failures with this model in Australia.

Pros: Light on fuel. Solid build. Recessed wiring. Orange!
Cons: The machine is very light, so be careful on slippery surfaces or with heavy implements.

MX5000 Kubota
Simple, Powerfull, Bullet Proof
Model Year: 2006

It's 4WD and came with LA852 loader. I added one set of rear hydraulic remotes. I use this tractor on a 30 acre horse/hobby farm. Mowing pastures with brush hog, construction projects, fencing/post hole drilling, dirt moving (lots), box blading, snow blowing, discing, tilling, clearing land, moving large square hay bales (800 - 900 lbs), landscaping, and lifing everything to heavy to move by hand. I have done all the scheduled maintenence myself at the scheduled times. Since the day I bought it new I have had nothing go wrong, nothing needed to be adjusted, never fails to start even in sub zero weather.

Pros: Ample power, easy to drive, easy to service,
Cons: differential locking pedal is stiff.
