I will say, this is the mower that I'm currently working on. The reason is that I'm not mowing baseball fields. I've got blackberries. And in places I hit between about a 30° and a 45°slope. For years I've been trying to get to the lower part of the property without much luck. If it was...

I think quickly the industry will outscale the small cartridge batteries. One nice thing about the cartridge batteries is that they can also be upgraded some, although limited by case size. Is the largest one EGO sells the 56V, 12 Ah? Not particularly cheap, but overall much cheaper than...

Oh, I see, the dielectric grease is an insulator, but helps protect from corrosion, so still good stuff. There are, however, a few brands actually marketed as conductive grease. Perhaps one should consider other protective coatings for electrical wires to steel. A small dab of brazing?

Both Greenworks and EGO have been around for several years, and make good electric equipment. EGO has settled on 56V batteries, and stuck to it. So, all batteries are more or less compatible. Greenworks has 24V, 40V, 60V, 80V, and 82V batteries. Perhaps even other orphaned batteries. A...

What are the oldest threads on the TBN

Hmmm... @Muhammad is showing as joining Mar 21, 1998. However, the oldest threads I'm finding are April 6, 2000. One thread seems to indicate the start of a "New" site and the end of an "Old" site on April 6, 2000. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/welcome-to-kubota-owning.2/...

    Cat pic(s)

I don't think Captain Hook's eyes are open yet. She was born April 13th, and photo was yesterday, so 6 days old. Her mother has had issues that she forgets where she puts her kittens so I crated her for a day, and then she seems to be happy with the crate. I'm guessing some form of a...

    Tractor wont start hot

My old Fiat had a problem with hot starting. I think it was solid tappets adjusted too tight. So, a little heat and everything was running loose and it wouldn't start. I can't say if any modern tractors would have the same problem

Is it time to consider electric?

I missed that. Not particularly surprising. And one of the reasons why most fork lifts still use lead acid batteries. They need ballast weight, whether that is making the lifts out of extra heavy steel, adding weights, or using heavy batteries. However, it also limits it. If I was going...

Is it time to consider electric?

I think there is some effort to replace battery packs in older electric vehicles. Not on a large industrial scale, but some first generation Nissan Leaf cars are getting newer battery packs, especially from newer wrecked Nissans. The problem with the auto market is that the value of 10 year...

Is it time to consider electric?

Unfortunately not a lot of people on this board seem to have dropped the dough into a new electric $5000 to $25,000 mower. Most of the naysayers for electric vehicles seem to have never actually tried one. I have thought of the EV zero turn mowers. I don't think the $5000 size would fit my...

    Log splitter wheels

Find any industrial tire shop that also works on fork lift tires and heavy equipment tires and they'll be able to foam the tires. It isn't particularly cheap, but if you start with good tires, it will last you for a very long time. They may wish to batch small orders like handtruck tires or...

    Junk Lincoln 140 C ??

Look for small capacitors that have a domed top (bad) Large ones tend to spit out brown goop when they go bad. My Powcon welder has one capacitor on the bottom with screw on terminals that like to come loose, generally causing it to stop welding and to be hard to turn it on and make it work...
