These forums never seem to amaze me in that one gets so many replies from people who know nothing about the tractor in question. There is nothing but gravity feed to the injection pump on that tractor. You know that, but obviously they don't. You're bleeding at the injectors, right? Don't disturb the lines at the pump unless you have to. There are reason to go there, but this isn't one of them.

I have a 870 John Deere, runs great but as soon as you run up the rpm’s it’s smokes like a train.and some water out of the exhaust

the inside retaining ring on mine needed to be pushed inwards out of the groove. Then it could be removed easily by turning sideways. The ram seals are a 5 piece fiberish material. concave and convex fitting into each other. Whats the trick to get them into the cylinder tube?
