Only problem with that right now is he has no power to anything. It won't crank, so kind of hard to point to a fuel problem when you can't crank the engine to check for spark, or fuel issues.
ZRT 50 won't start (after running well, then sputtering, and died ...with oil light on)

Will it crank if you jump the solenoid at the starter? That'll at least tell you if it's in the key switch circuit or upstream (battery/cables/ground) ... if it cranks, will it start/run with key in run position?

Sorry I have not been back to close the loop on this. The Kohler was indeed seized. I've been hard at work having secured a donor ride-on mower that had a nice 24hp Briggs twin which I've swapped into the Kohler's place. Now I'm finding - I think - that the solenoid for the starter was not functioning as well as the Kohler engine being seized!!! Thanks all.
