Hey guys, last week I bought a used 6245 with 300hrs, from a small town that was selling surplus equipment.
Before buying the tractor I knew the clutch cylinder was not working, however the clutch itself is fine. From what I've read, this is a fairly common problem with these tractors. There is some minor rust on the plunger in the slave cylinder, which I assume is from the slave cylinder leaking.
My questions are,
1- Should I replace the cylinder or try to bleed it ?
2-Where do you bleed it & where do you fill the reservoir ?

Great tractors. You'll like it. Yes, the master and slave cylinders on some old ones had that rust problem and also problems with the sealing rings internal. Given the sophistication of the rest of the tractor and the normal reliability of hydraulics it does seem odd that this happened to them. But I'd replace it and here's why: Zetor has always had a policy of constantly upgrading their basic design and making the new parts backwards compatible. That's darn near unique in manufacturing today, and worth taking advantage of. So if it was me I'd just get a set of new ones and make sure they are the latest type.
good luck, rScotty

If you need those new, I think I can take care of that? Ken Sweet
