My factory battery went out a few years ago and since then I can't seem to find a suitable replacement, no battery has lasted six months on my tractor. I'm not sure what size to get and only use the tractor once a month or so. Any suggestions for battery size/ type or how to make them last longer?

Car batteries are too small for the 4hp starter motor. Get one from a big rig.

Not 100% but the old battery lasted nearly a decade, tractor only gets used about once a month so I think it develops a memory when it gets low. Anyone know any inexpensive heavy duty diesel batteries? The one that used to be on it cost over $300

I use the Walmart batteries. $75 or so and they last.
If its super cold I plug it in or use ether.
