As I understand it, car roll bars and tractor ROPS are different.Making the ROPS permanent would be a good way to get them cut off or removed entirely. I have seen a few permanent setups and my issue is some of them are very tall, a lot taller than they need to be. No reason to have the rollover bar 3 feet above the operators head.
A car roll bar is designed for the car to completely roll over one or more times, and prevent crushing from the roof.
A tractor ROPS is designed for the tractor to flop on the side, and prevent it from making a complete roll over.
Thus, tall and narrow.
It is possible they could be redesigned to be more user friendly.
